I have been a few times in this region, reaching different goals. On three occasions I went to Bucharest, which besides being the capital is also the capital of the country. The big city but is not particularly interesting and among the least significant of Europe. Certainly this view has contributed years of communism and the policy of Ceausescu dissennata which destroyed much of the old town to make room for its famous palace, a mammoth construction of the largest in the world. The building is inevitably become the symbol of the capital because the main roads converge there and it is virtually impossible to avoid it. Of course, with its white marble walls of its causes but the figure suggests that to build were destroyed historic Orthodox churches and palaces reflect fà aristocrats. One of the most beautiful prospects of the palace of Ceausescu, which now houses the Parliament, provides the Unirii Boulevard that ends in the square dominated by a monumental fountain. What is left of old Bucharest was little further north in an intricate maze of streets where survivors of the massacre Communist survive ancient churches and palaces. From here you can reach one of the symbol of the revolution of Christmas 1989, University Square, where one-of-sight are shown in the Palazzo University, the National Theater and the Hotel Intercontinental. We are just steps away from Revolution Square, which houses the Palace once home of the Communist Party from whose terrace Ceausescu made the last speech to the crowd before escaping in elicotttero. On the square in addition to the monument to the revolutionary prospect important buildings such as the National Library. In town there is no lack of public parks, real green lung in the midst of a chaotic and disorderly urbanization. Another important city and former capital is tirgoviste, where Ceausescu was tried to escape but there was summarily tried and executed along with his wife Elena. I came here a couple of times because there are the remains of the Voivodeship Court of Vlad Tepes, that to which the writer Bram Stocker found inspiration for his novel "Dracula." In fact, Vlad was a prince that clever though with ways rejected the Ottoman barbarians who wanted to invade Europe. Returned to the sender the infidels after impaling here and there are numerous remains of his Court, a cylindrical tower and Orthodox Basilica. Around the city on a hill, it is interesting to climb to the Monastery Dealu lindo. I came here on a beautiful Sunday in October, was being a religious ceremony and many people had poured into the cloister. From here the view over the plains below and embraces tirgoviste, once the most important of all Wallachia, tied to three historical figures such as Vlad Tepes, the Bravo Michele (another hero antiottomano) and here he found that Ceausescu's death.
Prince Vlad, Dracula in literature, it appears that rest in the monastery located on a small island in the middle of Lake snagov, a town north of Bucharest. I was on the banks of the lake, but all I have to see the island from here without reach because there was no boat available to be ferried to the monastery. Much further east curtea de arges has the most beautiful monastery of Romania. The church interior was solemn, the remains of a saint venerated by the Orthodox and the exterior finely carved with geometric figures and columns. The nearby fountain is related to a gruesome legend that he saw the architect as protagonist Manole. The Monastery was built by lPrincipe Besarab in'500. The complex of buildings is included in a very rustic atmosphere. From here a mountain road leading to the great dam Vidraru and the homonymous lake formed by it. Going on a tower you can get a good overview of the body of water surrounded by green mountains. Rise in the far north of the Carpathian Mountains that separate from the Muntenia Transylvania. In the heart of this mountain town of sinaia occupies a narrow valley and is the main ski resort she Romania. Even when no snow is beautiful to walk in the woods or climb the hill to visit the Peles Castle, summer residence of the Romanian court, a home full of charm both externally and internally. The rooms are kept precious masterpieces of art, marble friezes, tapestries, sculptures. The castle is surrounded by green meadows and its architecture, with towers and turrets remind those tales of Disneyana. A little further north, following the railway line, there is the village of busteni from where a cable car to reach the plateau of Bucegi. Unfortunately, when they rose above the plateau was shrouded by clouds and I could not take the path that led me to a strange rock formation that vaguely resembles the Egyptian sphinx. Seppur goals without special significance tour was to visit an orphanage in Alexandria and I crossed the bridge over the Danube connecting Giorgiu with the Bulgarian city of Ruse.
