Arrived in Kosovo from Montenegro with my Fiat Tipo. Kosovo is an Albanian-majority region where many people have hats on his head like half an eggshell white. To get here I have traveled a rough mountain road full of hairpin bends and infamous for its dangers caused by the presence of bandits. First step to the Orthodox monastery of Pec, which despite being in the main town is the Kosovar-Serbian Orthodox Church's primacy. It was not yet broken out the Serb-Kosovo war but shortly after Belgrade would have a pretext precisely the presence of this church to claim this territory. Left Pec short stop on a country road near the Visoki Decani Monastery. Ethnic tension is palpable and the continued presence of roadblocks, military and police remind me that this is a difficult area. A few months later in this area would be the war began. After the quick visit I continued south to Deneral Jankovic reached where a first border with Macedonia is situated in a wooded area have been rejected by the military because temporarily closed. I then reached another frontier with Macedonia, which I managed to pass without problems. At the time of the trip to Kosovo was an autonomous region of Serbia and therefore part of what remained of the Federation of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro). Currently, the Kosovo although formally under the sovereignty of Serbia is in fact administered by the UN, has its own parliament and is awaiting that it be granted full independence.
