Going to Transylvania, Part 3: Serbia
We arrived in Belgrade at around 22.00 with a train on which we dined without pay. The first impact with the capital of Serbia there was a little 'frightened. A girl known outside the station we have in central Belgrade, where we found accommodation at 'HOTEL BALKAN. Excellent value for money.
Belgrade is located between the Sava and Danube.
Despite the terrible bombing of NATO in 1999 the people of Belgrade are very friendly and easy to make friends with foreigners.
Eating in Belgrade is fairly low, and the local cuisine is very tasty and local beer and wine can accompany your meal.
For the bar after dinner and clubs are numerous and inviting. You can go for example all'Underground which is in a cave beneath the walls of the "lower town", the place frequented by sportsmen samples, models and of course by ordinary people.
Perhaps the most characteristic of old Belgrade is "Ulica Kralja Petra I" and "Kalemegdan" is the name of the largest park in Belgrade and beautiful, the park where the fortress is a place where mothers walk with their children, engaged couples, groups of students and even tourists. It 'really a place of peace and contemplation in this town that was, unfortunately, in these recent years the place of grief and pain.
3 o'clock PM, Belgrade station
Let the goodbye (but I still do not know) to the Serbian capital to go to Timisoara. For the first time in this journey and the decision unanimous.
