09. 08. 2000 Bratislava (Slovakia)
After leaving the station in Ljubljana Rossho we left for Villach, Austria. We arrive at the destination to about 23, the station is huge and populated only by drunkards and thieves at this time. All doors were closed and we were the only "tourists" as well as unique children. We had to wait three hours there. I had a bit of fear, also we had not even a ticket for the next train.
21 o'clock and we get on our train ... But it is packed! We "camped" along the corridor and we're there for about ten minutes when the inspectors arrive. Carefully monitor our Inter-rail ticket and immediately realize that Austria was not included in our itinerary ... We give formal notice to pay, we discuss a little bit but just before they call the police pay the fine salt of £ 77,000 per person so we are covered up in Vienna. Despite the high price of the ticket does not change our accommodation.
We are still sitting on our backpacks down the hall and we get up every two minutes to pass the people who go to the bathroom ... At 6.30 am we are in the Austrian capital but not for long, we share just to the nearby Bratislava!
Arriving in Slovakia wanted to go to Prague to get closer to our ultimate goal: the Baltic States, but we learn that perhaps Lithuania needed a new visa. We need more notice, we have a foot race to the Italian Embassy to find out more .... Nooooo! There is a row kilometric Slovaks seeking a visa for Italy, but fortunately there is a door reserved for only us. We are told that there will no visa ... but we do not trust, however we decide to groped the same ...
Meanwhile, we head to Warsaw, Poland.
10. 08. 2000 Warsaw (POLAND)
Yesterday, morally speaking, I had a bad day for a series of events that are crossed: the departure of Rossho, drunkards Willach of the fine in Austria, the bad night train, the problems seen in Lithuania, I only know now I feel much better! This is thanks to two Portuguese "picked up" last night at the station in Bratislava and with whom we spent the night transfer to Poland. After so much time tonight on the train I am a little rested thanks to Pedro who watched for me! I am very grateful.
Warsaw is a nice city but nothing special, very industrialized, Milan reminded me so much twenty years ago. We visited the center, the residence of the President of the Republic and we walked in the beautiful central square.
[Pedro Aguiar Daniel Lopes da Porto, Portugal]: "We travel together to Warsaw?" So I met this "mafia" during the inter rail. I hope we meet again along this path ...
Tonight we're going to Krakow. We will stay there and in the impressive early tomorrow morning we go to Auschwitz. I'm excited.
