This Tour is included in the broader context of a trip including Poland (see on route) made with my Fiat Tipo.
Slovakia came from the border with Hungary to Sahy and night in an elegant guest rooms of Jasna Národný Park in the Tatra Mountains. Although it is the end of September there to welcome the snow. The next morning at Strbske Pleso-resort winter sports Tatransky Park in High Tatras on which is wrapped in a blanket of fog. The National Park of Slovak Paradise instead find the sun, then continue to Levoca, cities with medieval buildings and a curious cage where they were locked adulterous women. Just past Spissky Hrad and Spissky Kapitula or a castle in ruins and a monastery. The castle on a hill reminds many film-medieval environments. From there I reach Zakopane in Poland.
After the long tour of Poland (see on Tour), I returned to Slovakia by the famous Dukla Pass where the road relics are preserved in memory of the epic battle of the Second World War between the Russians and Germans. Turning to Svidník you see the typical churches of the Carpathia. On the border of Slovenske Nove Mesto by Hungary and then return to Slovakia by crossing the bridge over the Danube River that separates the twin cities of Komarom (Hungary) and Komarno (Slovakia).
Driving through the countryside north of the Danube to reach Bratislava. The Slovak capital has a relatively small old town with some monument worthy of note and a square castle. Sgraziatamente the old town was separated in two by a horrible highway separating the area from medieval everything else. Near the city lies the border with Austria, which I crossed to return home.
After this trip I came back some time in Slovakia for a transit to Poland to reach the Baltic countries and to make petrol Komarno during a vacation in Hungary.
Slovakia is not a goal essential to the curriculum of a traveler.
