New Year 2007!
Few days in Slovenia, me and Veronica with his friends Walter, Federica, Lorenzo, Annalisa, Simone, Chiara ....... Mirko, Paul and Albert ...... I think it's the first time you call them so when they know the dear .... Mash, Trikes and Monch!
For Slovenia the end of 2007 coincided with the opening of new horizons, and the breaking down of borders that divided Europe.
Starting from home, crossing the Veneto and Friuli we got comfortable with my own eyes and in Ljubljana, proved unexpectedly interesting in a region where, mistakenly, I had never turned his gaze and interest before.
I give the credit to Veronica when I got here ....
The first impression was of a nation that was prepared very well in Europe at the entrance .... order, cleanliness, new and beautiful streets, and people very friendly.
The five days in which we have really eaten until the last breath ..... there are facts missing almost nothing as far as we could.
Ljubljana, a small Central European town, probably is not among the most beautiful cities I have ever seen ..... But as it is enclosed in a cloth will be appreciated for the strong colors of its buildings, the river that cuts through the castle that dominates the hill, Christmas markets, shops, casinos and .... . good food!
Mamma mia what a surprise Slovenian cuisine e. ... eat!
Soups and creams mushrooms ..... mouth-watering and the meat cooked flawlessly .... We did not regret the flavors of Italian cuisine!
Ljubljana, moreover, since geographically the heart of the country, is an excellent starting point for visiting the entire country ..... probably not greater than my Emilia Romagna.
The day of skiing in Kranjska Gora, was a funny brackets and allowed us to reach almost to the Austrian border, through dense woods in the shadow of snowcapped mountains.

The peaceful village of Bled, on the shores of Lake Biel, is a pearl surrounded by the hills Slovene.
Coming from the highway, which leads from Ljubljana to Austria, me and Veronica we went up to this goal, not knowing what we expected but ..... what to ask for better than a day with clear sky, the sun high above us, a lake, calm water, a small island .... a staircase of white marble and a small church in the water, trails around for long walks, rowing boats, squirrels, swans e. .... the usual romantic castle on the banks of a steep cliff and from here .... to dominate the surrounding skyline. I dare not imagine what could be in the spring ....
Found a small Guest House for the night, hence the next day we headed to the caves of Postonja, I do not remember how long since I entered a cave ..... I was too young the last time ..... but can be as small or, alas ...., but now adults, the wonders that nature can give us always leave open mouth!
Often even the wonders of jaw-dropping .....
I've always had a passion for castles, I remember times romantic, honor, ladies and gentlemen!
A short distance from there Postonja Predjama ..... you can not believe ..... but how is it possible that someone could only imagine to build a castle there? In the midst of a mountain? Embedded in rock? Well yes ... not only been imagined .... but someone has really built ...... How about ..... once open mouth imagining the fierce battles to conquer a seemingly impregnable castle, whose grandeur is disarming and within it, identifying himself for a moment, gentlemen of that time, the feeling of protection is absolute .... . torture chambers, rooms of the knights, dungeons, towers, secret passages ..... Magic!
Often, I first, when we want to look much farther away from our borders .....
in this case, Slovenia is the memory of a beautiful new year spent with friends and confirms that a few miles from home, you can make some unexpected discoveries!
