Thursday, February 25 departure to Barcelona with Ryanair flight leaving from Fiumicino airport at 8.10, and the gate closes at 7:50.
We leave home at 5.30 am on schedule to arrive at the airport on time, but ... .. we did not deal with an accident on the GRA where there are 12 km in a row.
Panic! Are 7.50, missing one km to Ciampino and exit the traffic is blocked.
The plane is lost! However, we head to the airport to see what the next flight. We arrive at the information desk and the guy tells us the flight is late and begin boarding in 10 minutes.
Fantastic! Finally, a providential delay. We run to the gate 22 and we can get on the flight to Barcelona.
This trip was my Christmas gift to my daughter and I would be sorry to lose them 4 days together.
After an hour and a half flight landed at the airport and immediately head towards the train station to get to the center. The trains are very clean and depart every 30 minutes.
We go down to Barcelona-Estacio de Sants and take the metro L1 leads to Plaça Catalunya. It's only 12 o'clock and we head for the hotel to pack up and leave us a refresher. The hotel I booked on the Internet and is called Pension Lima and is located in Carrer Fontanella at nr. 16. To spend three nights 201.99 euro, but not quite worth it.
I had read the comments, but no one had prepared a room microscopy and a tiny bathroom. No wardrobe, no nothing. But at least it's clean and towels changed them to us every day.
We go out immediately and head to the Rambla.
It 'a great way, very well maintained and packed with people. Very nice!
We are hungry and go to the market and stop at the bar bouqeria The Bouqueria to sample the tapas with a glass of beer. The bar is packed and we have to wait a few minutes before we sat down. We order two tapas and two glasses of beer and all it cost us 25 euros.
It seems a little 'expensive.
The afternoon is spent wandering the city streets, to orient and familiarize yourself with Barcelona.
We arrive to the sea and visit the Port Vell and then we get to see the aquarium. Tickets cost 18.50 per person, but the guy is friendly to business and gives us guidance.
The aquarium is wonderful and the tunnel that allows you to see the large tank with sharks and many other fish fascinate me. Retrace the tunnel twice, just loved it.
When we go out it's already eight o'clock and we start to get hungry. We find a little place typical "El Portalon" in Banys Nous, 20, and we eat different eating tapas accompanied by a good beer and spending 34 euros.
Refreshed, we continue our walk towards the cathedral and explore the many beautiful streets full of people.
Tired back to the hotel.

When we get up and find that the price is not including breakfast.
From bad to worse.
We go down and find a small bar, the coffee costs 1.20. We will discover that in every local coffee costs dear.
Getting around the city, buy the T10. 10 trips/ticket, both by bus and metro is very convenient.
Take a bus that takes us to Park Guell. The day is sunny and warm and we spend several hours wandering around the park, and relax watching the various artists who perform in the market square. There is also a talented flamenco dancer.
In the afternoon we decide to go back to town and go down in front of Casa Pedrera. We admire you, but we decide not to enter a room and try to eat.
We find the Pastisseria Mauri Abla Catalunya, 102-103, and we choose the set menu that costs 31 euros for two people. All very good and excellent service.
After lunch we head to foot to the Sagrada Familia, is not far and we want to digest the large meal.
I remain disappointed in this famous building and then decide not to enter. It is not ancient, not modern and do not understand because it is full of scaffolding.
We return to the center and go to visit the Cathedral and I find it very beautiful. Unfortunately you can not see any, unless you decide to attend mass. We go out and take one of the many alleyways that lead into the Barrio.
We have fun exploring all the alleys and squares that we encounter. Wherever there are people and there are many street artists, but Barcelona is also famous for the many street performers who will find the best way to express themselves.
We return to the Rambla and try to eat a local. We stop to eat at Micky-is and we choose the set menu with tapas and paella, and we decide to ask for some wine. We bring a bottle of Faustino VII, which is an excellent wine, but it costs 18.15 euros. Damn! The set menu costs 19.90 for two people and we do pay for the wine dear. Warning, these eateries attract customers with low priced set menus and then they pay the dearest drinks.
We end the evening, enjoying the various talent shows that are on the Rambla and go to bed around midnight.

Sunday morning we get up and Barcelona welcomes us with a blazing sun and temperatures in spring, and February 27. Take the metro and go to the Olympic Village to see the famous sculpture of the whale.
It 'a sculpture made of copper that looks whole from a distance, but up close you find that it is made of braided wire. It 'very special.
Let's back up by a beautiful walk along the beach. Already in the morning is full of people sunbathing, or doing sports. We arrive to the port from where we take the cable car to get to Montjuic.
The cable car costs 9 euros per person for one trip and is an unforgettable experience, take a few minutes, but allows you to have a vision that is unique to Barcelona. Highly recommended.
When we arrive at the park, we take several minutes to admire the scenery and enjoy the warmth of the sun, then we begin the exploration of this great and wonderful park. Part of the visit using the bus to take you all around the hill and partly on foot. We hit the escalator going up and down and allow the gap to reach the top without hard work. We see the Olympic Stadium, the greek theater and palace of Alfonso XIII, and finally descend to the Fountains magic, believe it or not, are in operation. A tourist information officer tells us that do not operate every day and today is Sunday only work until sunset and then nothing magical colorful fountains at night. We lost a magnificent spectacle, but also see them during the day is certainly a marvelous sight. We arrive at the Placa Espanya and we also see the arena where bullfights took place.
The arena was closed some time ago, but inexplicably will reopen in a few days. The bullfights in Catalonia were abolished from 2012.
Rooting for the bulls.
And 'the early afternoon and we're hungry, we head off in search of a great local economy and find a Mexican restaurant "latrajimera".
We decide to stop to eat something.
Mexican in spain, only we can choose it. Eat well and spend 24.50 in two. And 'much cheaper than the restaurant we found in the city.
After the meal we take the metro and go on the waterfront. We draw an ice cream parlor "Vioko" and enter. Inside is a triumph of high mouthwatering pastries and ice cream. Consider a cone with two huge scoops of ice cream, and while we admire one of the nicest guys we've seen in Barcelona. Also the eye wants its part.
Let's go back to the old city to see the Cathedral of the Sea. This is also very beautiful to see her better, and we sit in front of a bar with two glasses of vino tinto. The bar is called Vascellum and is very nice, and we feel so much Spanish.
After we quench, we continue the walk in the beautiful streets of downtown and back again on the Rambla.
Are 21 and decide to take another two cups of wine in a local restaurant.
We enter all'Hosteleria Alemana, number 127. We welcome a gentleman of a certain age and accommodate us. We only ask for a drink and a tapa.
We carry everything and more, and meanwhile the old man, woos us and entertains us with magic tricks. We also offer a super alcohol that stuns us and eventually bring us the bill, 56 euros. Even the waiter makes the gallant Pakistan and eventually asks if he can offer us a drink when he finishes the job.
Thank you, we decline the invitation and we are reaching the home battle. I recommend you see it in the evening when the light takes on a fairy tale. All the buildings of Gaudi have something magical and mythical, but the house at night Battlò assumes an aura of mystery and becomes almost transparent.
Go there at night, I recommend it.
And 'later and go to sleep, tomorrow is the last day of vacation.

We wake up early and after depositing our luggage, we go to the Santa Caterina market. It 'a very nice market, but the Bouqueria is much better.
Let's go back to the Cathedral for a shopping trip, we saw some things that we like and want to buy.
Near the square of the cathedral are Happy Pills and we enjoy so much you choose to give candy to her friends.
Then we go to Desigual to buy a shirt and a bag, and then by Blanco for a pair of shoes.
Finished shopping, we decided to take another look at the market Bouqueria, and while we're on La Rambla, we decided to have lunch there.
We go from Amathu, and once again we choose the set menu with paella. Total 40 euros, but at least it was all very good.
It 's almost time to go to the airport and then go back to packing.
From Placa Catalunya by metro to Plaça Espanya where we will take the bus 46, which will take us to the airport.
When we exit the subway, someone tried to snatch my daughter using the trick of ice cream.
It works like this:
identify the victim and then with a dirty ice cream. An accomplice thoughtful offers her a handkerchief and distracted by the person leaves the luggage which are promptly taken away the other accomplice.
This time they failed, and I realized that I could not take anything. Tie.
We arrive at the airport and the holiday is over.
Adios Barcelona
