We arrived in Playa de Aro (Costa Brava) with the Camper by Milan move 41 days of sea and tour (1945 kilometers). In Costa Brava, we moved the camper leaving detention, using, instead, the return visit to France (view more travel).

The cities included in this story are
Barcelona, Playa de Aro, Palamos and Tossa de Mar .

Barcelona Day 1
From the station, Playa de Aro I took a direct bus to Barcelona where I was waiting for my friend Catalana. I came directly to Placa Catalunya and since my friend would come home only in the evening by, I have taken advantage to do a tour in Garry Gotic, the oldest area of the city, the real historical center, where there is also the office of tourism. The name derives from the Gothic style that characterizes the buildings. La Catedral is absolutely prevent it, either inside (see photo) is the turn around the building full of statues. Among others in the area are bakeries / patisseries sfiziosissime for sweet and salty snacks. Ah, the throat! There are some really interesting views and the courtyard of the governor (I am not sure of the name but is listed on the guide) merits a photo. E 'famous for azuleie which is decorated, but in reality it is interesting also for many other architectural features. If you have a good guide you have no difficulty in visiting. After a few photos along the Ramblas (see photo) step by the university to locate the house of my friend and find a bakery in the area. Understood for the case in the best bakery in the city where I get lost in front of a counter irresistible, and, with great effort I can just buy a cake of chocolate, nuts and pears, which is a show. I reach my friend and spend the evening at home, talking and making a poster photo.

Barcelona Day 2.
I leave home early enough to want to do a tour strictly linked to Modernism (Gaudí), visited on the Ramblas, the market (see photo) where everything from fruit to fish, is fresh. Buy my lunch: sweet cherries! And I start toward the Park Guëll through the Ramblas and the Passeig de Gracia.
- Small digression on Gaudí --
The year 2002 was declared International Year Gaudí. The architect and designer Antoni Gaudí i Cornet was born in 1852 in Reus, near Tarragona. Studied partly in his native city to continue in Barcelona where he collaborated with various architects Gaudí Spain was one of the most important figures of the Art Nouveau movement in Spain, and its actions on the city of Barcelona have contributed to the creation of some of the most distinctive buildings of the landscape urban in town. Gaudí was an architectural pioneer, and he used the movement to create structures that challenge the limits the strength of gravity, using colors and materials in an original and innovative. The most immediate example is the Park Guell, located in the north of the city, but also home Battlló and famous, and visitatissima and incomplete Sagrada Familia. His style, in contrast to the Art Nouveau of Central Europe is contaminated, in addition to the Gothic by Moresque which is evident in the structures and use of azuleie (pottery used both in Spain).
L'Art Nouveau in Spain is called Modernism and Barcelona is characterized by buildings, especially along the Passeig de Gracia, where the two houses, visited the most famous Gaudí: La Pedreira (Casa Milà) and the house Battllò (see photo). During this visit the Ramblas I continued straight on, passing Placa Catalunya, the Passeig de Gracia and go on until you get to Park Guell. It 'was quite difficult because the sun to peak in summer, is decidedly from sunlight. I recommend this route only to fans of Gaudí and who already knows well the major monuments of Barcelona. Along this road there are houses with stained glass Tiffany style strictly, balconies, doors, wrought iron gates and grilles characteristics typical of the period.
The Park Güell is inconvenient to visit if you do not take the bus tour or car because the subway is quite far away.
The park is great and all very peculiar view from colonnade wrong houses that seem to marzipan etc.. (see photo).
To be able to visit the park is necessary to dedicate more than an hour and a half. Inside I met a bunch of Belgian guys who gave me a ride to the center then passes from the Sagrada Familia. We did some 'shopping, visas already discounts. In the afternoon I met with my friend, who was trying to see some house apartment, interesting experience. Having finished as we went to visit the interior and roof of the Pedrera, the expression of a purely Modernist now. (see photo) with chimneys shaped (the masks that recall original structures and Venice). After supper at home in the evening we go out to take a drink with the boys at the popular Belgian Guell Park, behind the Ramblas, where you will find all students and where they receive invitations to several rooms.
The nightlife in Barcelona is very much alive thanks to the universities in the center. Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas are traditional meeting points.

Barcelona Day 3
Unfortunately, it is already time to return to the coast and, having greeted my friend and he made another tour through the center, I take the bus to Placa Catalunya to return to Playa de Aro in the late afternoon. Just in time for swimming in the crystal clear waters and freddine typical of the Costa Brava.

Playa de Aro, Platja d'Aro or in Catalan, is a tourist beach. The beaches are long and wide and many entertainment. E 'da un po frequentata' throughout Europe and according to the period you can find more French, more Italian, more Germans etc.. In August, especially in the period close to 15, the majority of tourists are Italian.
The country is collected and is comfortable to run on foot, because, in the evening is very hard to find parking. While Palamos is typical to go to dinner or shopping etc. Platja fills from 20:00 onwards in a very crowded movida. E 'a main road, where passing cars and where there is a tourist town hall and office where there are bars, pubs and some shops. In the pedestrian street parallel to us are the tourist shops that stay open until 22:30 / 23:00 pm.
During the week of August 15 is the Festa Major, namely events in different places with dances, concerts etc.. Pick up the brochure at the tourist office, is interesting.
