Up and down in Maiorca to discover the island in the company of old and new friends

 

Starting with surprises!!

Although not scheduled for vacations, Mallorca will be a wonderful one.
This story is a little detailed, someone will disagree but there may be a lot of information that can interest.
Me and my girlfriend Laura intended to go to Thailand, but only 2 days before leaving we decide to go to Palma de Mallorca instead.
The package (teorema = bad tour operator) provides 14gg full board with roulette formula in 3* (1440 euros + 65 insurance. Expensive!)
Arriving at Malpensa we were immediately queuing! It will take more than 1 hour for the withdrawal of tickets. Waiting to check-in our adventure was born. Wemeet another couple even in their formula roulette.
We and the other couple (David and Alessandra) continue the journey to Palma where, surprise! The suitcase of Laura does not arrive.
After waiting several minutes I manage to make complaints. Teorema guide invites us to climb the bus and told us that the baggage, as found, would be brought in Hotel. A few minutes later in the middle of the motorway, patatrac! The bus was broken! What a sh.. of start.. under the sun and burning with anger in the body, we had enough. Later a new vehicle will lead us to Paguera at the Valentin Park Hotel. Just off the bus who did we meet? Ivan and Alessandra. As us in our hotel for 2 weeks!
The hotel is discreet, the sea is at 400m and we are told it is beautiful.
Time to settle and we go to buy something for Laura, poor girl, she has not even a garment.
The evening shooting on the village and... meeting my friends in Turin also with their roulette formula in the evening before!
Great fun that evening, we needed to rise up our morale..

Searching for a swimsuit!

We dedicate to purchase (the past 12 hours, keeping the tickets, we will be entitled to the cost of essential goods for 300 euros). We come to Palma which we already know and do shopping. The bag will arrive on Tuesday with several things missing.
For information on our return we made the complaint and sent it to insurance that will refund us completely.

Finally suitcase arrives. It was at Punta Cana!

Our real holiday starts now.
I, Laura, Ivan and Alessandra book a car for 3 days to begin to visit the island. In the afternoon doing a walk we arrive at Cala Fornello, a very small cove, where you can acces only passing by Germanic Empire! Lavish villas with swimming pool overlooking the headlands.

Let's find our friends of Italy which are in another beach at Paguera.
They too have made new friends and we spend the afternoon together.

Cala Sa Calobra

Today we are going to Cala Sa Calobra.
We decide to take the interstate for 3 hours to get there but it will be good. The road is all in midst of nature and during path we also see the very characteristic Valldemossa country.
The last portion of the road is at the top of the hill with small streets and wonderful landscapes. When passed by we redirect to Cala Tuent, take a bath, a small snack and we move to Cala Sa Calobra.
The water is clean and tourists come from everywhere. Really the place is special because to access you must pass by a cave that leads to the mouth of a small river that meets the sea passing between the rocks.
On the way back you can not miss Fornalutx (country that has won for 2 years following the prize for the best atmosphere in all of Spain).
This time we decide to take the autopista for Palma and in 90 minutes we arrive in Paguera.

Es Trenc

Today we start to Es Trenc. From Paguera going eastward, it takes about 40 minutes by car, but from country to country, so it was taken to observe the various mills and you do not even realize when arrived. Left the car in the enormous parking (5 euros) we arrive at the spendid beach.
It seems to be in Varadero, long beach of fine sand and intense blue sea. Taken the umbrella with 2 deck chairs (10 euros) we enjoy the beautiful sea.

Cala Mayor

Given the beautiful day spent at Es Trenc we decide to come back, having package lunch at 10 o'clock we are already on the beach. The place has few people and the entire beach is for us and a few nudists here and there.
Unfortunately our friends from Turin return home. At night we do a trip in Cala Mayor much more alive than the quiet Paguera, with many local clubs.

We return the car back and enjoy the pool. We need to recharge batteries.

Palma to day

Visit to Palma passing from the La Seu cathedral (all in Gothic style) and Palacio de La Almudaina that are the heart and history of the city. We climb to Plaza Mayor and go down the alleys to reach the Parque del Mar. Unfortunately we can't visit the Castillo de Bellver (where you can enjoy a beautiful landscape) and the Poble Espanyol (replica of Spanish palaces and monuments ).

Paguera in relax

We remain in Paguera (or Peguera in dialect) and we relax a little, enjoying the hotel that ultimately worth the money spent as a structure, as for the meals.

Car booking

We book the car for the next 3 days (Renault new Clio 1.2 at 100 euros for 3 days). Now between us and Ivan and Alessandra a real friendship is creating and we do everything in harmony.

Dragon caves

Start early and we head to the caves of the dragon. Along the way, specifically in Manacor, there are several outlets for handicrafts, food, and pearls; where to buy souvenirs for friends in Italy. Arrived at Cuevas del Drac we do a megaqueue and after 90 minutes we can get to this legendary caves. They are the largest caves in Europe and the contrasts of light reflecting in the lake are astonishing. We arrive at a point where there is a large "room" with a place to sit down and turned the lights off... three boats will arrive carrying light and piano and violin players who will shudder us for the emotion.
Left the caves, we go to Cala Mende (near the cave) and do a pair of dives.

Casino, what a pain!

Back in paradise. Es Trenc has left its mark and we can not refuse to go back there. Do not disappoint. In the evening we decide to make a leap to the Casino of Magaluf and we can not fail to note that Santa Ponca and Magaluf are more "active" than Paguera where, after the 11.00pm occurs curfew!

Our favourite destination!

Women insist, Es Trenc, Es Trenc, and at the end we satisfied them. We have lost the opportunity to go to Formentor, but many have assured us that we have lost anything special.

Comeback to Italy

We greet Miguel our waiter, and reluctantly to return to Italy with a load of good memories, and a new spendid friendship that will last. This time with our suitcases sealed at Palma airport.
