Menorca

Menorca island still wild, little exploited by tourism with the exception of the largest resort, with many beaches and pristine coves still to be discovered.
Roads are few, the traffic is low, and a scooter is sufficient to explore the island. Beyond the capital, Mahon, and the town of Ciutadella, there is not much to go on, apart from its beaches. Most tourist are exploited and Son Bou, 3 km long beach, and Cala Galdana, beautifully located in a protected bay.
There are beautiful coves of international renown, one of the most famous in the Mediterranean, which Macarella and Macarelleta Cala, Cala En Tourqueta, Pregonda Cala, Cala Mitjaneta, etc.., can be reached by boat or by walking.

Hotel Club Son Bou

One of the most complex organized Minorca , beautifully situated on the beach of Son Bou, reachable through a path of about 150 meters.
Accommodation is provided in apartments surrounding the huge swimming pool, with living room, kitchenette, bedroom and terrace.
Treatment is a half-board buffet, you can consume at the main restaurant with air conditioning (very good variety and selection of appetizers, pasta dishes, grilled fish, all of good quality), or in more informal restaurant / pizzeria with terrace air and sea view.
The beach is beautiful, the water, and you can rent daily sunbeds and umbrellas at prices unfortunately very high.
Access to the sea at some points is a bit difficult because of small rocks on the bottom.
The animation during the day organizing the traditional activities, while at night, comfortably seated at the bar, you can attend performances very carefully, even artists outside.
Paradise for children through all'attrezzato mini club with a huge playground, and with 3 mascot who organized the evening performances for children.
Just outside the Club is the resort of Son Bou, with various market and shopping malls, clubs and restaurants.
The only new is the price is very high considering the half-board accommodation, drinks and beach excluded. Website's:

Excursions

The coast by boat

The trip, organized by Alpitour and other tour operator, provides for the transfer Ciutadela in a bus, and then embark on a comfortable boat for a tour along the south coast, the most spectacular.
Unfortunately the day we met is not the best, and threatening rain Nuvoloni blacks. Nevertheless, the trip will be.
A first impact Ciutadela looks very nice, there is the center and the harbor is very characteristic.
The first stop is planned at the beach of Son Saura, but just landed us an unpleasant surprise: the beach is full of algae, which reach up to the meter in height before you came into the sea (never seen such a thing), and to take a bath you need to walk a lot to achieve a stretch of beach, very small, where there are far fewer algae. The water on the other hand, is truly exceptional, clear and blue.
Before leaving is the lunch of paella (not good), then continue to navigate to the Bay Macarella, crossing areas where the sea is truly magnificent, giving the colors ranging from dark blue to turquoise.
Macarella and the near and smaller Macarelleta are beautiful, but unbelievably the boat does not stop (the series we have seen heaven but we have not touched) and we go back for another stop in the beach, Cala En Tourqueta, beautiful but with water a little stagnant.
The day ends with a nice time in the open sea on the way back.
A tip for those who want to visit these quiet coves, who like walking, you can reach Cala Galdana with local media, from different paths here: one in an easterly direction reaching Cala Mitjaneta briefly, a longer one west, which reaches into about two hours before Macarella Macarelleta and then Cala En Turqueta, but agrees to stop the first two.
