After listening to the tales of a colleague who visited Tenerife for 6 times, I decided to visit it.
From the moment one is immediately aware of being in a place where they live off tourism. The organizational level is excellent, even you can reach every corner of the island by public bus. As for buses, the ticket prices are very low, the same is true if you want to rent a car, the subcompact can also be found at 25 € a day, and then the fuel is diesel fuel that costs less than 90 cents per liter (gennaio2010). This small island encloses a small continent, the climate in the north is slightly wetter and cooler than the south, while Mount
Teide, about 3700m high it is not difficult to find a bit of snow. The northern part of the island is without doubt the most beautiful. Do not miss the town of
Puerto de la Cruz, to me is a little paradise. We must go in person to realize this. Tenerife is a volcanic island, and in fact most of the beaches are creamy white. Another sight not to be missed is San Andres, here you will find Playa de las Teresitas, whose beach has been artificially created with sand imported from the Sahara desert. Especially in the northern islands are small towns that have maintained their appearance almost intact, as well as San Andres suggest
Garachico,
La Laguna (the old town is UNESCO), the Candelaria, The town of La Orotava .
The southern part of the island however is very different, I speak of
Los Cristianos, playa de
Las Americas, Costa
Adeje. Everything is artificial, does not seem to be in Spain. It is worthwhile to go on vacation, in fact this mega-resort has been built so well that you will be impressed. Do not miss the parks, all the Jungle Park and Siam Park.
Then there is Mount
Teide, a 3700m high mountain in the middle of the ocean. A must see. At about 2500m there is a cable that allows you to reach the top. From the top you will see all seven Canary Islands.
Tenerife is the ideal place if you are passionate about surfing, hiking, trekking.
Tenerife is simply superb, a little paradise.
