The extension of Majorca is 3640 sqkm. It 'a very large and it is absolutely advisable to rent a car. Roberto and I we left for Mallorca August 5 of 2000 (for 2 weeks) from Verona to Bologna because there was no room. We stayed at the Emperador (Address GERONA 17, EL ARENAL 07600), a nice and relaxing. The restaurant is very large, we had half board, breakfast and dinner were buffet. Very varied choice. The location is not directly on the sea but with 2 steps walk you will arrive directly on the beach of El Arenal full of life and shops that sell everything. Very animated premises on the seafront offering sangria at will and make music till late. There are also many restaurants where you can taste the famous paella de marisco.
ATTRACTIONS:
Cabo Formentor: viewpoint of the great moments that will give peace of simply admiring the beautiful landscape that has to be up here!
Sa Calobra: beautiful beach in the northern part of being part of the Serra de Tramontana in which, before you come walk on the bed of a river (mouth of the Torrent de Pareis) in dry (in August), lined with magnificent rocky peaks, for then arrive in the beautiful Sa Calobra from turquoise sea and the beach of white pebbles! Before getting to the bed of the river you have to make a panoramic walk that sometimes takes place inside a cave where, in the cracks, you can enjoy really beautiful views.
Other beaches to visit are Cala D'Or (south), Es Trenc (south west), Playa de Formentor (north east).
Do not miss a visit to the capital Palma de Mallorca.
The beautiful Gothic cathedral, La Seo, who is in the old quarter of Palma Portela. Very majestic, its spire dominates the seafront of Palma. Bello also circular Bellver Castle on the harbor and the village of Valldemosa where famous living artists. The historic center of the city is full of shops and clubs pretty much.
We participated in a boat that did the tour of the island and took us to see the lighthouse on the island of Toro. Lunch on board based on paella and bathing in the most beautiful bays!

In conclusion Majorca is a beautiful island that combines both the sea life that visits to the city and the caves, but in my opinion is too large, especially in tourist agosto.Preferibili cousins are his children Formentera and Minorca.
