Tour of Andalusia, Spain, part 4: The beautiful city of Seville and its Royal Palace
Località: SevilleRegione: Andalusia Stato: SPAIN (ES)
Seville: it starts with the Royal Palace, the Alcazar, Seville residence of the royal family of Spain (about gossip has just leaked the news that Princess Letizia is pregnant) with massive walls and towers. The facade hides, through the halls and galleries, decorated with ceramic tiles on the large patio de las Doncellas example of Arab-Andalusian art. In the gardens we see a 20 meter high bougainvillea and jacaranda beautiful, with flowers between blue and purple, too bad that the sky is cloudy and threatens rain every now and then. The Cathedral is majestic, in a sumptuous Gothic style, the huge gilded reredos (the largest in the world) of the Capilla Mayor is simply stupefacente. The afternoon sun appears and the Plaza de Espana appears in all its glory. Complex of buildings built in a semicircle at the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, decorated with marble panels and ceramic tiles (like the 58 Spanish provinces). At night the fountain lights up and all around has a charm that captures.
