Journey to the end of New Year 2007 / 8. Ryanair flight from Bergamo to Seville in two hours. Early in the morning we're already in town where they lodge in beautiful Hotel Corregidor (found on the Internet) where we spend only 40 euros per night with breakfast New Year!
The three days we pass around the city visiting the districts (to the left of the Guadalquivir) best known of the historical center, like those of Santa Cruz is the old quarter of Seville has some of the most spectacular monuments, so that UNESCO has called Heritage: the magnificent Cathedral, which together with the Giralda is the symbol of the city and two other very famous works of the Archives of the Indies and the Alcázar, or Reales Alcazares, the streets are very impressive and at night they become even more. The District of San Bartolome with his Church of Santa Maria la Blanca and Plaza de San Francisco city hall with the beautiful district of San Vicente, San Lorenzo and dell'Arenal with the Torre del Oro on the Guadalquivir River is so named for the effect created by coating azulejos (features monochrome tiles) that once covered making it shine and is now sadly gone.
On the right bank of the river lies the historic rather Suburb of Triana. But there are other areas of the city less known and equally rich in history as the Old Port area where docked ships rich in gold and silver. Also do not forget to see the Plaza de Toros is the largest of Spain! A beautiful city, full of life even in invenrno for its mild climate, summer is even more because of the bars are open on the River. In the evening you can eat paella and tapas in the numerous local and also listen to flamenco. So a city not to be missed, see pictures to believe.
