Two funny weeks in Barcelona, capital city of Catalunya, Spain
Località: BarcelonaRegione: Catalunya Stato: SPAIN (ES)
After the Spanish experience of May for the summer holidays we decided to return to Spain, not least because this year hosts the Barcelona Olympics, and hockey is an Olympic sport. In addition to Barcelona we did a few days at sea. Second city of Spain but the first center of Catalonia, Barcelona is a city overlooking the sea from the many and contradictory souls. Catalan is the soul and makes it a strong protective of their culture and traditions, so proud of their language to survive it to oblivion Franco. Barcelona is the cosmopolitan but that has always been open to foreign trends, which entered through a very active port and its proximity to national borders and interpreted here in an original way. Culturally vibrant city and the protagonist of a dramatic economic progress, the Catalan capital is a concrete expression of an ongoing commitment to innovation, whether it is dictated by the need for civic (as in the Eixample) or structural requirements (see action for the Olympics 1992). The tourist who reaches the city discovers an ancient and modern at the same time, where the most representative of the Catalan Gothic are flanked by spectacular expressions of Modernism and where the combination of an old fishing quarter and a modern Olympic city does not seem so irreverent. The architectural beauty and artistic masterpieces - along with tasty cuisine and a lively nightlife of the most - make Barcelona one of the favorite destinations of travelers to Spain.
