This trip to Valencia was not planned but I seized the opportunity because the price of the ticket was very cheap! In fact, hang out on Ryanair's website I found a flight leaving from Bergamo, just 25 €, so me and my family (my mom, my dad and my sister) we decided to take this opportunity to visit a city still unknown to us.
For sleeping we rented through the website homelidays.com, an apartment in Avenida del Puerto, just 10 min. walk from the city of science (150 € 2 nights).
We used to move the Bonobus, a rechargeable magnetic card, which costs € 8 (2 € and 6 € for the card for 10 trips).
The first day we visited the city of science. The second, after stroll through the Parque Jardin del Turia, we went to sea. The third was dedicated to visiting the city center, easily explored on foot.
I highly recommend a visit to the City of Arts and Sciences and in particular Oceanográfico, a walk in Parque Jardin del Turia, and Cerveceria 100 Montaditos.
Only area a bit 'degraded is located behind the port.
The city is safe even at night, well supplied by public transport.

At 6:30 our flight left from Bergamo with Ryanair to Valencia. The goal was reached after 2 hours of travel, and once landed we headed straight to the subway station which is below the airport with a ticket from € 2.90 we went to the apartment, located along the Avenida del Puerto. Once deposited our luggage once we started to explore the city, walked to the Ciutat de les Arts i les ciencies, reached in less than 10 min. After taking numerous photos we headed to the complex all'Oceanogràfic, the only building we have visited because of my passion for tropical fish. The ticket price is 24 € (and applies them all!) But thanks to my student card I got at a reduced price, 18 €! Our first destination was the dolphin, ended the show (there are 3 per day) started to visit the other pools (one of the beautiful beluga) and after a visit lasting about 3 hours we moved in the harbor area .. . what desolation! All premises, despite being the 17, were closed and to find some bar we moved along the seafront of Malvarrosa. After a walk we returned to the apartment and a dinner of pizza, (bought in one of the few places open in the Avenida) ended our first day in Spain

The morning of this Monday was spent entirely warm in the Parque Jardin del Turia. The river Turia, which up to half of the 900 through the city, was diverted and now its old bed has been transformed into a beautiful garden where you can walk or ride a bike, full of fountains, playground, tennis Football ... In the afternoon we moved to the sea. By bus we arrived at Malvarrosa and here we stayed until evening, breaking sunbathing with refrigerants swimming in the sea!
After a shower in the apartment we went to dinner downtown with paella and sangria (50 € in 4) in one of the many overlooking Plaza de la Reina.

After releasing the apartment and we took the bus reached Plaza de Toros. From here, backpackers, we moved first into the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the town hall square, and then in the Plaza Santa Catalina Plaza de la Reina, where is the cathedral. The entrance ticket costs € 4.50 and includes an audio guide in Italian and describes the history of the church, visiting the museum attached to the sacred building and the Chapel of the Holy Grail, which excludes the other hand, rose to Miguel, the bell tower. After the visit we had lunch at Cerveceria "100 Montaditos" where you can eat sandwiches in 100 different ways: the cost of each roll varies from 1 € to 2 €, but there are several menus (the four of us we opted for the menu from 20 at a cost of 20 €). With this menu, plus 4 buns and ate plenty of four beers and spent 30 €!
A bit 'heavy with meal we headed to the nearby Plaza de la Virgen and from there on foot, first to the Torres de Serranos and Torres de Quart after two ancient gates to ensure access to the city. Then we reached the Mercado Central and visited the Lonja de la Seda (free admission), a splendid Gothic building. Before reaching the Estacion del Norte where we waited for the subway that would bring us to the airport, we even had time to try a horchata (2.50 €), a drink similar to the almond milk, all'Horchateria de Santa Catalina in ' homonymous square. Finally, from the Plaza Redonda, we reached the subway all'Estacion del Norte with the destination airport. At 22, right on time, Ryanair has started flying from Valencia to land in Bergamo at 23:30, half an hour early.
