(Distance 925 km from home). Back in the Swiss countryside. We stayed in the French part of the Helvetic country not far from the border and did some cross the border effect for trips of 10 minutes and always have the fear of not having an identity card with him. Do not carry out on-exhaustively, but it does happen! Base of the trip Poully Saint-Genis (in France) with subsequent forays into Switzerland to visit Geneva. The very nice old town and the promenade along the lake that can be seen as the first impact is a remarkable sense of civility, tolerance and respect for other cultures that are springing up in various shapes scattered across the city wing. It was very pleasant to go to a pub for a beer and be invited to sit by a complete stranger with whom we have talked about using a bit of French, English and some other language you just invented while in the room was a metal concert. The main object of our trip was the visit to CERN (European Centre for Nuclear Research). You realize that you have to do with people with big brains that are "migrated" to see their efforts rewarded in the studies: we found ourselves in front of the famous Brain drain. Very interesting driving and the thing that struck me most was a figure at the center: the financing of a year at CERN, which work only for non-war projects, it costs like 5 days of the war in Iraq! MEDIDA PEOPLE! Other visits were very interesting: at the headquarters of the Red Cross with a journey with pictures, videos and documents at all obvious, and the UN headquarters Broken chair with the chair placed at the entrance depicting the horror of the use of land mines that has a very strong visual impact. The food: cheese lovers in the right place but also other tastes, surely, can not find something to complain about.
