Bad weather in Switzerland
By now we had decided to leave and nothing could stop us, nemmno torrential rain, wind and a depressing blanket of fog. Before leaving home we had already realized that the weather would have ruined this weekend, but in the hope that the day after the storm had died down, we have undertaken a long journey through the night towards the Bernese Alps, and more particularly, to the towns picturesque and timeless set between the mountains of JungeFrau, the roof of Europe.
But the rain has never stopped, nor along the way, neither the border nor tantomento to our arrival at Interlaken. morale was really in pieces, moreover, because, deprived of this greyness, the same places we would have appeared absolutely fantastic, there were hidden in fog scenery .. (which would not have been able to see ..)
Interlaken is a small town surrounded by peaks of Jungefrau and set among mountain lakes, Lake Brienz and Thun Rather nice collection but to be explored on foot, where you meet most of the shops and kitsch can pretty breweries, ideal location close sound during a storm. More upmarket range is the most traditional huts made of wood and just outside the pedestrian walkways meet nice hiking trails.
Gstaad & Saanen Two mountain towns linked together by small villages, almost seem from a single town. The profile of the Winter Palace, the famous super-luxury hotel in Gstaad is perhaps the most famous building in the region, tourism in these parts is very high, tend to be only very expensive structures, which is why we decided not to stop for the night, staying at Interlaken, much more modest and affordable .. Gstaad still has its charm, there is everything that we would see glimpses of postcard, wooden houses agghindate as strange, huge bells as decorations and colorful flowers in the balconies. There were many local visitors during an annual festival to which we can grasp only a parade in traditional dress.
Zweisimmen One more stop before returning to Italy, This time a tiny village along the road that takes us back to Interlaken. It seems that almost every house is made to be photographed! The appearance of every hut in this region are treated to details of dolls houses seem, perhaps bizarre, but very cozy.
Although the weather has not rewarded our visit, the feeling that brought home to these places will still be positive. Moreover, we have chosen these places to enter the set of one of our favorite movies: "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," a great success of the Indian film industry .. (Well maybe not famous here in Italy, but a real phenomenon abroad, as to earn the title of Long Running Movie of Our Times ..) The itinerary can be easily recognized by anyone who is passionate, at least some ', of Hindi Movies, and I must admit they have become my mind .. ... maybe my trip to India in 2006 has had its side-effects .. :) ... so much so that I continue to seek it anywhere ... even in Switzerland!
