On a day is about 600 km ... .. this was our tour de force on the same day to visit both the bridge and the Tibetan Triftbrucke Trummelbach Falls. Both are located in the Bernese Oberland region not far from Interlaken. The departure from Nova Milanese is set for 5 and punctual as a Swiss watch (already had to tune in) we started in 4 (Mauro, Graziella, Tony and Renee).
For better or worse we knew what to expect at the level of drudgery, but it does not bother us. After covering the A8 towards Como and continued in the direction of Lucerne (Luzern) take the highway E35 (the motorway in Switzerland, 2). Remember the vignette for Switzerland if the highway is no trouble. Immediately after crossing the Gotthard tunnel exit are 39 signs to Interlaken / Sustenpass / Gurtnellen along the Sustenstrasse. Be careful because the road is closed to traffic during the winter. You follow the road until reaching Sustepass (2224 meters). No fear of the road is pretty wide as well. For those who want to make it really fun to be in motion view of the multitude of motion encountered on the road. After about 42 km you will reach a downhill bend where we find the funicular leading to Triftbrucke (a nice blow-up is hanging on the facade of the station). Are 8.15. Let's tickets (cost around 22 CHF 20 million) for the cable car and told that our departure was fixed for 8.36 ... .. and here is that we start punctually at the appointed time. The cable car takes us half way. To say that you can also have it totally walk from the funicular railway to the bridge, but the hike is estimated at 4 hours. Instead we get off the funicular is only asked to walk for an hour and a half. The trail is clearly visible and does not present insurmountable obstacles. The only advice is to have shoes tracking. After about 45 minutes we arrive at a crossroads. Both roads lead to Triftbrucke but while taking the left is for everyone, the right one because it requires some experience Windegghütte the scale and then down the other side and it is not that easy. We follow the path so much easier (we are not big mountain), and after covering the canyon dalla'lto and doing the usual photos, we arrive at the bridge Tibetan Triftbrucke after exactly one hour and thirty minutes. Pity about the weather is cloudy and does not make it on the spectacle of the place. The bridge is solid quiet the only thing if you suffer from vertigo do not look down because the jump is impressive. Against the backdrop of the lake and the glacier with its blue reflection is really superb.
Photos and filming ritual after which a small break to eat and drink and we continue our descent to return to the funicular station. We meet different people and my personal advice is to arrive early because parking spaces are not unlimited.
Arrived back to the car we go for our second half Trummelbach Falls. We walk up Sustenstrasse still in Meiringen and then follow the signs to Interlaken / Lauterbrunnen and the revenue of the falls are right on the road after about 55 km from the funicular Triftbrucke. We rest a while 'and take the opportunity even to eat our sandwiches. After coffee we head to the entrance. There are 11 CHF (about 9 euros).
The Trümmelbach Falls are the only waterfalls in the world originating from a glacier and underground access, connected by elevator, tunnel, tunnels, tracks and platforms. Only they convey it downstream of the glacier melt water of the Jungfrau, with a maximum capacity of 20,000 gallons of water per second. Every year more than 20,000 tons of eroded debris and precipitate out loud a whole mountain. (Source: www. Myswitzerland.com).
The route consists of 10 terraces to admire this beauty of nature. After the entry so there there are two possibilities: either from the No. 1 and walk them all uphill and then down in the elevator or climb up the waterfall with the latter rising to No. 6 and 10 refer to the 7/8/9 then decreased up to No. 1 which is located near the exit. We opt for the latter.
We climb with this elevator with counterweight directly into the mountain and come out one hundred feet above. So we go up to see the first waterfall. Superb simply superb. The impetuous force of the water is astonishing at first terrace. From here go up to see the 7/8/9 and 10. The Swiss have created a sort of trench in the same mountains and waterfalls leave trails of light that range from white to green to blue. Beautiful. We go down and get to see the other falls to the exit. In all, we spent an hour and it was worth absolutely worth it. It's only 16.00 and we would like to see any more but luck does not assist us. The first was to take the cable car up to 3000 of the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant where a glacier can be seen from here but the cloudy weather of the rise and the price (100 euros) have recommended the second was that of a tour to Interlaken but the road into the city was literally stopped by a long snake of cars that put us off. At this point we decided to divert to the house where we arrived at 20.
In short, a trek but well worth really worth.
