Taking advantage of Ryanair offer me and my boy we took a flight to 140 euro a / r in two with a checked baggage for toiletries and heavier things.
Also booked the hotel for 4 nights (through the website) with the Melbourne House Hotel 10% discount if you pay cash on the spot in the 23 / 9 we finally departed from Bergamo.
The hotel turned out to be true bull, recently renovated, clean and the breakfast area is abbondante.La Pimlico, the hotel is two minutes walk from the Metro stop and a 7 / 8 minutes from Victoria Station, where buses stop Terravision departing from Stansted Airport.
In Bergamo we purchased the ticket Terravision £ 14 return from Stansted to Victoria Station.
So arrived in Victoria around 13 we headed on foot to the hotel, the area is quiet and clean.
Deposit the bags with a map that is located in the hotel we went to walk to Westminster Abbey (where all the kings were crowned admission fee) we ate a sandwich from a bakery down the street and we scoured the area and saw the big ben is just behind and the parliament.
The evening dinner in the pub.
Does eating in pubs, we got big fish & chips and chicken curry with two pints of beer and we spent £ 25!
Thursday 24/09
Mea culpa after we wake up an hour early because I had not adjusted the time we went to breakfast with a bright sun and never seen in London, we had to Oyster pay-as to go "loaded with 20 pounds, and there we headed to Buckingham Palace to visit the inside (can be visited only eight weeks a year when His Majesty out of the office) so we approfittato.E 'was good to see where the Queen receives the celebrities and see the exhibition of her clothes.
We have witnessed the changing of the guard at 11 (40 minutes and there was really a lot of people) then the board of the first if you want to get some decent photos.
Taking the subway we went to St. Paul Cathedral, but it was closed, we went on the Millennium bridge .. and ate a hot dog lousy on the road near the Tamigi.Sconsiglio eating hot dogs on the street 7 euros for a 2 hot dogs and bottle of water was really cold and uncomfortable, the better to rely on pret a manger, or take a sandwich from the bakery for fresh pastries that make them so.
We headed to the Tower of London (17 pounds) but it deserves, we have seen the jewels of the queen and traveled around the fortress.
We went from London Bridge but we had a snack saliti.Abbiam from Black coffee with hot tea and delicious cakes and not yet tired ... we took the subway and we headed to the London Eye (16 pounds with the virtual tour will include 3-D) .
What a sight at sunset .. when parliament lights reflecting in the Thames. ... What a thrill go up to 135 metri.E 'open until 21.
Tired we went to dinner at a restaurant near our hotel cambodian for not doing more road because we had really run out of energy!
Friday 25/09
Abundant breakfast and then by metro to the museum Brithish (which opens at 10 and it's free). We have not got the audio guide, which costs 05.03 pounds because we wanted to be free, then we were in Athens last year and we have devoted so more time to the area and Egyptian mummies.
At 12 we went out and we headed to the Temple church that x who has read the "Da Vinci Code" will remember the details and is free of charge but are exposed cmq times out because it is not always open.
After church we ate the Temple by Pret a Manger (sandwich and salad) and we headed to the museum of natural history that contains the skeletons of dinosaurs and whether it is a lot of fun with kids.
Then tired we walked through Hyde Park, saw the statue of Peter Pan and had a snack with fruit lying on the grass in the sun.
It 's strange to see the Londoners dressed in suits and ties who walk fast in subway, there's no one not even the girls with jeans, and then to 17 when leaving the office all go to the pub to drink a pint of beer with and they are all out of the pub to chat.
We went to Trafalgar Square to take pictures on the giant lions and then back to the hotel shower, dinner at Pimlico Tandoori Indian restaurant very good and a train to Piccadilly, we wandered through Chinatown and Soho, and after we drank a pint of London Pride (very good).
Saturday 26/09
More sun ... and not even a cloud, how wonderful, I had read that the last week of September was the wettest of the year!
We found that the Victoria line was closed for the weekend. ... Pimlico ... but then also the 24 bus which leaves outside the hotel took us up to Vicotoria and we headed to Notthing Hill for the Portobello Road market, we ate Ghanaian (really very good) on a stand per14 euro in two and we headed to Camden Town to the other very particular market, we did a lot of photos, we have entered the cyber dog, discovered that you can eat 4 pounds cooking of all types in the various stalls that sell and sit on the wasp cut in half to eat while watching the River.
We wanted to go to King's Cross to photograph the platform 9 and ¾ (where he met Harry Potter) but there was really a lot of people, we made back and forth on the subway because the blue line was closed and we were an hour in a line el 'other underground, in the end we made it to photograph the platform 9 ¾ and the railway station, there are works in progress and then the oyster is crazy and when we went to Covent Garden, there was more out there but opened their doors for good luck.
Tired of the facts km walk for different markets, shower and dinner at the pub in Victoria, for our last evening in London.
It is true that pubs and close early as I had read other stories, perhaps depends on the area, we ordered after 21.30 and there were people still coming in at 22.30 for dinner.
Sunday 27/09
We got up quietly, pack their bags, and always with the sun to join us we headed to Piccadilly, Candemir for lunch and then we tasted the food in Nigeria.
15 parts Terravision bus to Stansted and in arriving at Victoria coach station we stopped at a pub down the street to drink the last London Pride, very good!
We had the plane at 18.45 but the controls at Stansted were strict, we have seen people pay £ 30 for excess baggage weight or non-compliant at the time of boarding the plane.
We have just put my bag in the trolley and we set up the jackets and fortunately c'han passed, we started cmq ritardo.Mi recommend check the site and measures the weight because it can happen that you do not control but with We were very strict.
I must say that I really liked Otter, is a multiethnic city during the week and there is certainly less confusing to the weekend, we did not take a drop of water ... we were shooting in short sleeves but we got a cold for the changes in temperature , in meters, there are 30 degrees, no air conditioning in the rooms and outside in the shade we wanted the sweatshirt and the sun was too hot, however we were very lucky.
As for the H1N1 flu, we had the Amuchina gel and we disinfect hands often and we have not seen anybody with the masks, maybe the media exaggerate.
I hope to help you, we missed the shopping, we were not even from Harrods and Carnaby Street, but touring around the town.
