So we are left to wait for another flight to yet another adventure.

It 's still our long journey, at least my own, and full of unknowns ...
Ready to check in, gate number 3 with Gulf Air ...

Manama (Bahrain) 3:11:09

On the plane we are few: some businessman (I read here that you happen to visit only for business because there is nothing) ... and many Thai prostitutes (I also read that they will find many around).

Hour of flight and landed in the capital of this small kingdom ... Well, after an Emirate and the Sultanate is now the turn of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Nick is very sick, his face is white but tries to go on ...

[Nick]: "Start by saying that staying in a hotel but in a real apartment.
Living room, dining room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen etc..
Unlike other cities in the Gulf, Manama has a center where you can walk on the edge of Government Avenue.
Just when we were starting to have fun I am beginning to feel bad and back to the hotel ...
Mark goes around ... "

On foot reach yet another large mosque (Al Fateh) that I read to be the most garnde Gulf ... But they also said the same of that of Musca? And yet that Abu Dhabi? Well ... all have delusions of grandeur ... docet Hong Kong.

Chatting with a taxi driver we find that along the way was the National Museum of Bahrain ... We stop.
Nick begins to falter ...
Visited by only a small part of what appears to be a very big museum ... But nothing unusual after having visited many ...

Nick shakes and sways ... taxi back to base and leaves me to write even his cards ...
Reluctantly I let go and preoccupied with the promise to reach an hour later ...

Meanwhile I would also miss the intricate souq of Manama and I can almost since it is formed by an endless series of alleys teeming with stalls of all Indian ...

After some 'return from my friend and luckily is much better ...

Reassured, I leave again in search of an internet point for organizing the next move in Abu Dhabi. I wanted to contact Ibrahim and Sofia ....

I find that in Manama is very difficult to find an internet point since there is Internet access everywhere ...

A Pakistani gives me a ride to a "neighborhood American ... There really were all Americans!
O sailors on duty or family members of Americans working in neighboring Saudi Arabia, unlivable for Western women and children, as I said after a lady from New Zealand at Starbucks ...

Meanwhile, I continue my research at the point, I venture into dark alleys and quiet, I pass a couple of mosques, and I hit the dozens of pairs of shoes thrown in bulk near the door ...
Finally found in an area a bit 'infamous and inhabited only by Indians ...

Notice my friends Emirate of my arrival the next day and try to return safely to the hotel ...

Along the way I think it will be Afghanistan, we will round adventure in the Middle East for two weeks already but are much more shrewd than usual and I venture, even alone, in situations that perhaps before I would have avoided ...
I do not know if it's good or bad ... But while I thought I was always most proud of ...

In hotel meeting Nick ready to go out again ...
I'm broken after so many km on foot but we go anyway.

Port my friend in the "American Quarter" recently discovered and before a Majestic smoothies, Starbucks coffee spend some time relaxing!

Manama (Bahrain) 4:11:09

[Nick]: "We have done many in two weeks ... From skyscrapers to deserts ...
Abu Dhabi I liked much more than Dubai but as we had predicted: Our trip to Oman and had not betrayed us. Truly amazing is the atmosphere that things done for the places visited that particular being able to enter the world with these Arab dishdasha and kuma, yes, they took us into their homes (and not c 'is nothing more beautiful), led us to the places that attend and play football with them! Hospitality and friendliness that I never expected!

It all started while sitting at Starbucks Coffee, the Abu Dhabi airport, eating bad donut expect my peers coming from Doha.
Everything ends in the same place two weeks later ... The beard is longer, the Afghan scarf worn more, more dirty clothes and I always feel bigger ...

Nick He's just embarked, he returns to Italy ... I have a late morning flight tomorrow from Al Bateen ...

Never before this time the work our team is run like a Swiss watch ...

I am happy with the pit stops made in Bahrain, I would have regretted it if we had not taken advantage of this opportunity, we dared and did very well ...
Too bad for the stomach pains Nick, now I have pain but ...
Lately we ate badly and now my stomach presents the account ...

My thoughts began to turn in Kabul. During the trip I continued to monitor the situation in Afghanistan through newspapers or newscasts and the fact that the elections be repeated for fraud Karzai, the situation could worsen again ...

As I approached, by taxi, at the military airport of Al Bateen already various flash this latest trip began to take the form of an old memory ...

The tarantella with Faisal Muscate seem to happen so long ago and created an awareness that the second part of my adventure in Afghanistan is about to begin ...
