This trip has particular symbolic value for us because it represents a kind of training for what will be our real voyage of September.

We decided to travel by public transport and local change location every day ... we'll see ..

05. 05. 2011 Larnaca (Cyprus)

In Cyprus we speak greek, we use (recently) the euro, the drive on the left.
Larnaca positively surprised me right away, this small town has a rich history that dates back to the times of Jesus ... the famous Lazarus ("get up and walk") after his resurrection seems to have taken refuge here to become Bishop of even Kytion ...
Wherever there are in fact sacred images, iconographies that represent the bulk of the business of souvenirs.

06. 05. 2011 Limassol (Cyprus)

[Stefania]: "At 10.30 we take the bus to Limassol. The landscape is a succession of gentle hills, olive groves and vineyards.
Limassol is a great city, the double of Larnaca. The guest house that Mark found on the internet is really very special, from the owners Sergio and Dean (two ex-hipsters), I already like!

I seem to be living in a movie in here.
I met Dean through the forum of Lonely Planet and the profile photo I thought was an admirer of Tiziano Terzani view of the long white beard and white hair to his shoulders. Instead it was him! What a guy!
The guest house is situated right in the city center along Ayou Andreou Street, a street crowded with tourists!
The interior is a veritable museum. Even the smell of a place that seems of another time. There is a wall crammed with books, novels, some of faraway places that Lonely Planet have nothing to do with Cyprus, old pictures and furniture from another century! The way cool thing is that we have a balcony that looks out on the main road!
It was very relaxing to play cards enjoying the last rays of the sun for another unforgettable day sipping coconut juice in cans or a delicious salad of fresh mango prepared by Ste '.

Limassol is the second largest city of Cyprus and Cypriot birthplace of my friends of the College, Oxford. Too bad they failed to meet after 13 years!
We spent the day of the visit of the Byzantine Castle, the various Orthodox churches to end up dozing on rocks heated by the sun and cooled by a gentle breeze!
