A journey to Jerusalem is not only a space travel, but nacho time, it is immersed in an atmosphere that takes you back centuries, if not for the metal detector placed at all entries of the Jewish part of town. Here you will find, however, looked different and change the world just by changing the neighborhood.
Situated on a hill, away from the sea and rivers, Jerusalem was, and is not fighting for its strategic importance but for its value and religious character. The history that this city became holy to the three monotheistic world religions: the promised land for Jews, the scene of the redemptive mission of Jesus and stop the mystical journey of Muhammad to Allah. The Hebrew Bible refers explicitly to Jerusalem (by name) about 700 times and the name of Zion (which itself is the Temple Mount and then is used to describe Jerusalem as its capital city, and so probably the Holy Land as a whole ) 150 times. In the Jewish religion, unlike what is happening in Christianity and in Islam, the sanctity of a place is not measured according to the events that it can be verified or the person you can be buried, but at the same place. This explains how the sites sacred to Jews did not relics. Christians tend rather to demonstrate the authenticity of the sacred character of a place on the basis of the memory the exact location of the site on which they were acts of Jesus or other saints. This is why Christians consider the Holy Places all evangelicals.
