Many people, when they hear about Turkey or neighboring states, have a reaction to turn up our noses with absolute distrust. I never understood why until I visited this beautiful country: the strange things are always viewed with suspicion and fear, especially if you rely on the stupid clichés. Turkey is a beautiful village that fascinates with its diversity of cultures, religions, traditions and architecture, won for his people which is among the most hospitable and kind that I have ever known, amused by his antics .... In short, it is not a goal to be discarded!
The travel program was: initial 2 days in Istanbul, a week gulet for relaxation and rest days to explore the archaeological remains of the towns old .... I can tell you that the program has hardly ever been observed at all, but trip was equally beautiful, it was perhaps even more!
Just arrived is the discovery of Istanbul ... a city that I love ... literally a "skyline" very special, with its towering minarets on the horizon, the smells strong, beautiful women veiled eyes the songs funny but "theme" in the radio taxi! 2 days may allow only a taste of all this splendor, but we managed to see the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Saint Sophia, we did a cruise on the Bosphorus, we lost in the Grand Bazaar ..... I do not know what I enjoyed it more because everything is so beautiful and different! Topkapi certainly leaves open mouth ... is a wealth of absurd, like being in the palace of a sultan from the "Arabian Nights", with walls and floors inlaid with mother of pearl and precious stones ... the real treasure is even more amazing! The grand bazaar is legendary ... I love the markets, but this ..... especially colorful, messy, noisy, happy! Istanbul is a city where surely come back ....
The week gulet has jumped dramatically instead, since my sister was still very small and was just beginning to walk and the boat was old and unsafe, with the banks too low for her ... so, first with heavy heart We decided to take us anyway those days at sea giving up the boat but turns into a hotel in Bodrum ... here we met a turkish guy my age who worked in the restaurant where the parents went every day for dinner, which we had a really beautiful day! We boys took us a memorable evening, playing bowling, showed us all the hidden corners of the delightful Bodrum, has made known his cousin who had a boat which took us around the various coasts, accompanied us to visit Kos .... well, it was a very fun week! Even after 8 years we have found on facebook, it was great!
Ended the week at sea, we left for archaeological remains .... so I hoped to visit the ruins of Troy, after having studied both above the high school, but as usual in an unexpected and the other is not was time ... in return I settled in Ephesus, Pergamon, Aphrodisias, all beautiful and discreetly preserved! We still managed to see the site where once stood one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the temple of Artemis .... not remains virtually nothing except a few stone, but it was exciting to think of being statanel place where once stood one of the seven wonders!
Well, then ..... advantage of the fact that Istanbul is also connected with flights now, I recommend to all my wonderful experience as a country that won the initial doubts, you will just fall in love! The trips also serve this to drop some clichet!
Bon voyage!
