Naples - London - Toronto

As usual the first day is always the most tiring, we arrive at the airport of Capodichino "escorted" from our parents such child until the first day of school, At 12:20 p.m. on the dot off the BA plane that will take us to London Gatwick . Obviously the plane to Toronto departs from Heathrow Airport, then we have to take our luggage and then travel by bus from National Express (www.nationalexpress.com) at Heathrow Airport (about 1h 10 min). Having already done the check-in for Torontoa Naples, we go to the fast bag drop and so in about 8 hours we are in Toronto. Once in Toronto we pass the thorough customs checks (where control domestic air tickets etc.), We make a first step, the lost and found to claim the tripod camera and then we go to our hotel the Ambler Inn. Little known throughout the international airport in Toronto will not find an ATM with the VISA and then the circuit to bring the cash to pay at least the taxi.

Toronto - Niagara Falls

Managing to sleep is a really difficult thing the difference in time actually feels. From our accommodation we take a taxi (25 CAD) to the metro station to Kipling and 5 with CAD and 20 minutes to arrive Dundans (after changing to Bloor-Yonge), hence only a few meters and arrive at the bus station where we buy two Tickets for NF (92 CAD) displacement by the excellent greyhound Canada (www.greyhound.ca), starting at 10:15 a.m. and 1 hour and 30 minutes we arrive at their destination, our hotel is located on river road and the Days Inn Niagara on the Falls. Since it is too early yet we can not access our room, a little evil "released" through the backpacks and offered a free shuttle from the parking arrive, or just the casino near the waterfalls. Needless to say that the town is horrendous NF seems to be in Las Vegas full of places with thousands of lights (Clifton Hill). At some point we are overwhelmed by the beauty of the waterfalls, the noise is also seen at a distance ... exciting. The two waterfalls are the American fall and fall horseshoe (horseshoe) separated from the goat island, and both waterfalls atomised water in a manner so impressive it's true that there is a crazy humidity. Unfortunately, the legendary Maid of the Myst (the boat that comes under the waterfall) today does not make excursions, however we can get off along the path that leads to board to better admire the waterfalls. Of the two I have to say that the most exciting is the horseshoe, you can bring a lot, always nearby you can go into a tunnel (journey behind the falls) to admire the falls from behind !!!!! awesome. The rest of the day we spend on a park bench near the waterfalls. At about 20:30, as every day, falls on a projecting beam of light colored, the effect is nice, but contrasts with the belllezza natural waterfalls.

Niagara Falls - Toronto

Today we return to Toronto, with the greyhound bus. Obviously we can not go around the city with backpacks nor go to the hotel, we decide to use the lockers comfortable bus station, where for $ 2 you can leave your stuff all day. Turn the corner and we all'Eaton center with its beautiful square, we head towards the CN tower along the Yonge St. and Bay St. Along these roads you have the feeling of being in a cosmopolitan city, you see people of all breeds may even happen to come across managers who go to work with shoes!. Before coming to the tower we stop to the gallery of Inuit art, where they are exposed stupendi products manufactured by the Inuit, from there we head to the CN tower, the highest structure in the world with its 530 meters. At a cost of CAD 20, through a ascesore the glass walls you can climb quickly to the top to admire the beautiful skyline of the center filled with skyscrapers. Quite happy the day we return to the bus station to take the backpack and then Subway. Solita Kipling station and then direct to our hotel the Stay Inn very nice. We decide to give correct information to that usually leave the hotels and we are going to eat at The Grill restaurant located nearby, where you need the very best steaks ... I suggest.

Toronto - Calgary - Banff

This morning we wake up quietly and go to breakfast than usual The grill, with a shuttle available to the hotel we head to the airport. At 15:00 we have an air of low-cost airline WestJet (www.westjet.com), shortly after we discover that our flight was canceled, bitter but are aware that things that we head to the captain of the airline desk (that's the thinking Low cost ...), but apologized after incident and having put on the flight that leaves just two hours later, we "trimmed" two food vouchers worth 10 CAD each (not bad) ... but (also I find returning to Naples in the mailbox I find a letter from WestJet to me to notify me that "recover" the incident gives us a good 99 CAD for any WestJet flight not bad even if you do not use I must say that the gesture was carino ). Because you have time, we decide to go from BA to see if it is our tripod in the hotel since we have not received anything (then you say the low cost), we discover that it is still Alondra and arrive in the coming days. Finally leaving for Calgary, where we arrive three hours later, the ereo is very convenient, there are televisions in each sediolino and offer beverages and snacks for free ..... but sure it is low cost?. Arrived at the airport collect your luggage and we go to the desk of the Banff Airporter (www.banffairporter.com), where buy 118 CAD for two tickets to Banff, this bus line makes direct connections between the Calgary airport and the town of Banff rocky mountain, maybe the price is somewhat high, however, avoids the hassle of reaching the center and changing buses. Starting at 20:30 we arrived (tired) at 22:30, our hotel is the Red Carpet Inn.

Banff

Today, through the website of Brewster (www.brewster.ca) we booked two nice trips, during lunch we see that much snow outside, in a moment the roads are covered with bleached white and a soft blanket of snow. At 8:45 begins a tour entitled "all about Banff," we are to take a small bus with us in five (including the guide), we see a series of breathtaking landscapes such as the tunnel mountain valley called by the natives for buffalo sleeping its shape, also visit Lake Minnewanka (spirit of water), Mount Norquay and as a last step the Cave and Basin where Banff was born the National Park. In the afternoon to 12:45 we have "lake winterland Louise", where obviously we have to reach the Lake Louise to Banff from about 1h. The place is magnificent, there is an enormous chalet that makes the setting for this wonderful lake ... completely frozen. To get to the lake makes the guide will make a path on the snow, of course, is too soft to walk over and we have to wear snowshoes provided by Brewster (see photo). Arrived on the lake you can admire this wonder of nature is an exceptional performance. Before you decide to back a taste of delicious cappuccino croissant surrounded by coffee in the chalet. Both in the morning than in the afternoon we sighted numerous animals such as deer, the elk and the sheep. In the evening we walk through the center of Banff with its many souvenir shops, we have booked the bus back with the Banff Airporter that (as we discover) has no desk in the city and should phone the toll-free ... that fact.

Banff - Calgary - Vancouver

Yesterday evening at 11:15 a.m. we telephoned a tipa BA finally told that the tripod will be in Calgary tomorrow (after six days !!!). Before returning to Calgary today, we must make a nice trip "Johnston Canyon icewalk, incredibly (but not view the season) we're just two people ... we can say avre the guidance staff. The canyon is enough from the city (about 45 min) we need to do more in the longest route because the road is closed from 6 am to 9 am so as to allow the animals to feed (!!!!!!!!). Arrivatiall'inizio path of the guide will make the needle wear boots, the sottoscarpa with steel spurs are used to not slip on ice. Indeed the narrow path that skirts the canyon is all frozen (icewalk), on the road we meet many squirrels after 1 km arrive at the lower falls, bellissimam, the waterfall flowing under a display case of ice. After another 2 km to reach upper falls where we stop to drink a hot chocolate, in return we can realize the actual usefulness of spurs, as many tourists find that slip and fall in the wrong way on slabs of ice. 13:30 we go to catch the bus that takes us back to Calgary, where he recovered after the tripod (without even an "excuse the noise") always start with a WestJet flight to Vancouver. Once in Vancouver we take a taxi that brings us to our hotel, the Days Inn Vancouver Metro, posiamo bags and eat close to the local Portuguese name (I think) a taste of ... Pourtugal excellent, especially the bife na pedra or a cooked meat on a hot stone ... exceptional.

Vancouver

To visit the city of Vancouver we head towards the station of the skytrain or the nearest: Namnino, alight at Granville (about 4 stops and the ticket costs 2.25 CAD). As soon as we arrived in downtown breakfast with the usual cappuccino, to divert rain outside, we head to Gastown, the old quarter where there's a steam clock or a clock that works with steam. Touring around the city we head to the beautiful (and huge) Stanley Park, even if the weather is really horrible is pleasant to walk along the path of the park. Visit the totem pole where there are beautiful and the famous Totem aquarium for the first time in our life we can admire an animal that beluga ... nice.

Vancouver - Seattle

This morning we leave Canada, there's a good move. Let's go by taxi (10 CAD) to the coach station, where at 9:30 the bus to Seattle (52 CAD for two people), after about 1 hour trip we arrive at the border of the USA where there is an incredible traffic. Waiting two hours before entering, came our turn we ask: who we are, we do, who we are, where we (1 guilder ... no this was a movie), take the imprint of the left index finger, the right There are a digital photo and we must complete two forms (however hard that enter the U.S.). After paying U.S. $ 9 (no CAD and then there is no ATM we need a credit card) pass our baggage X-ray .......... we are finally in the United States.
