MONTREAL

MONTREAL - QUEBEC
Finalmente si parte! It 'time to start grinding a few km, and so left for Quebec. QUEBEC - COTE NORD
After a good and abundant breakfast is our time to greet this fascinating city, certainly the most European encountered throughout the journey, and so we put ourselves in the car ready, accompanied by a beautiful sunny day, to face 256 km that separate us from the next destination along the St. Lawrence River, we must reach the Baie Sainte Catherine, where we planned the trip for the sighting of whales. Traffic, almost non-existent, is not a problem, the thing that intrigues us most is the fact that here are very powerful machines, roads, XXL-wide and long and yet there are speed limits to us unthinkable, beyond all possible and reasonable assumptions, here the limit on motorways is 100, say 100 km / h, it is true that we are completely enraptured by the charm of the majestic nature that surrounds us but to Dario (I ve not yet made, my inseparable companion in life and travel) refrain from pushing the foot up a sometimes really difficult. Despite the speed limit, the trip was really pleasant and we see immediately that what is the river here seems more a lake, at times perhaps a sea, there is not even the other shore ... and we note immediately that, like any other trip abroad in which we traveled by car, there is a sense of citizenship that much more pronounced than in Italy, will meet the limits, both in urban centers and outside, we respect the way, few crowds and nothing out of place (eg street rubbish on board, paper on the floor ..), but because Italy is so difficult to explain to people the respect for others and the environment ?!??!?! COTE NORD - SAGUENAY
Salute this quaint village and its charming marina, take the ferry and start to go up the fjord, we have entered in the Saguenay - Lac Saint Jean, a vast region with many natural wonders, a river, a huge lake and a majestic fjord with panoramic views, along the way so we stop in many villages, until you reach the hotel, on a small hill with a view of the fjord, a charm. www.battures.ca
SAGUENAY - LAC SAIN JEAN
Also within the speed limits we now 135 km in the direction of Saint Felicien, advantage on the way to visit a paper mill, the first that began to produce centuries ago, now closed and converted into a museum. The afternoon is devoted to visiting the park-zoo for the biodiversity of Saint Felicien, an incredible place, animals are the species that live in this climate (do not expect to find lions or gazelles!) LAC SAINT JEAN - MAURICE

TORONTO
For today we planned to return to Montreal, the return of the car and half a day to see something that we have visited last week, but the weather is inclement, Montreal with the sun is definitely not in our destiny, in fact the day is bad and minimanente no signs to stop rain, so we are looking for some indoor attraction, hence the idea to take advantage of it to buy some souvenirs ...
Montreal / Toronto
For the transfer to Toronto, we have chosen the train, the trip takes about four hours and a half and also see the organization of the station and the journey makes us think, unfortunately, the comparison with Italy is inevitable, and certainly our country, indeed our railways are not leaving victorious; station here is orderly, clean at all chaotic, people are preparing about 15/20 minutes before close to the "descent" to the track, obviously in an orderly single file where a checker verifies that there is in the right place, so as not to make mistakes, I speak of "descent to the track" because the tracks are compared to the underground station, but is prohibited for users to stay near the track, you descend smoothly, accompanied by the hostess when the train has arrived. The journey passed quickly and arrived in Toronto we choose to use the subway to the hotel, problems moving from anybody, even a lady see our somewhat "lost" in the search for the line to take to get to our destination stops and gives guidance on what to do, but kindness! The hotel here is typically American, a multitude of rooms divided over 23 floors, and then enduring a row to take the elevator!
Toronto
The day is entirely devoted to a visit to this metropolis, definitely infuenza of American architecture, skyscrapers and skyscrapers ... certainly the symbol of the city is the CN tower, in practice the antenna for telecommunications, a huge pile of concrete, high-more than 500 mt, aesthetically certainly is not one of the seven wonders of the world, but the view from the platform at 350 meters height is breathtaking and the second level to about 440 meters one is truly without words, the leaders of the city tell us that in conditions of optimum time you can see the waterfalls of Niagara, but we could never be so lucky? I say only that it was cloudy, but vision has inspired us ... dropped from up here wandering around the city and we decide to go to the display area, and take the tram in about twenty minutes we are at a huge amusement park with different pavilions attached to equestrian shows and skaters, depending on the season, the thing that has brought us here is the "festival of Chinese lanterns" in practice in an area adjoining this was the summer festival, where along a path illuminated by Chinese lanterns, hand-sewn one by one in pure silk, are found costruzioni who remember the china, a show that at sunset leaves us incredulous, a set of lights and colors never seen before. At eleven in the evening we remember that we must go back to the hotel, but there will be a tram? alternative? do not worry, this is like the three in the afternoon, means a full and a lot of people in metro tram, but we finished the water and now? minimarket ago at the clock, 24 hours on 24, solved this problem ....
Niagara Falls
Today finally it is time to go to the long-awaited Niagara Falls, we decided to book a trip organized for this trip, then come directly back into the hall and so we start, unfortunately due to work being becomes rather long journey, but the fatigue is already forgotten when we descend and we find ourselves in front of this amazing spectacle of nature: it is not the height that makes these waterfalls, but the mass of water in motion and when we go up on the "Maid of the Mist" to go under the waterfall in the first pass of the American side and close to the Canadian, identified by the shape of a horseshoe and fortunately we were provided with water (clearly back with us at home and stored with care), we are in practice under the shower open to the maximum in the middle of a deafening roar that experience ...! The trip before the expected visit to a farm producing high-quality wines, but who knows why we can not find anything interesting !?!?!?!
