Honeymoon for 24 days in America West (Grand Circle) and part of Canada (Toronto and Niagara Falls).
Trip organized by well-signed by two years (or more) by reading the various reports and diaries found on the web. I prepared everything, then I got in touch with a friend who works at a travel agency to define the whole. It 'was the most beautiful journey of my life.
America is wonderful and the Americans. People disponibilissime and friendly. Even if you do not know very well the language you do not have to worry because they are able to give every possible assistance, on each occasion.
They are very organized, and very tidy. All are respected and this is really nice!
America, moreover, is not expensive at all and the breakfast / lunch / dinner is the norm.

The hotels where we stayed are:
Toronto - Le Royal Meridien King Edward (very nice and you get well walk to the CN Tower, Skydome, Yonge Street - the longest street in the world, Eaton Centre - a huge shopping mall). At the reception to let the city map. Really comfortable. Also you can book from a visit to Niagara Falls. You will take a bus to Canada with $ 210 in two, will pick you up at the hotel will take you to waterfalls, you will make the tour "Maid the Mist by boat, and bring you back to the hotel in the evening. Lunch is not included, but Niagara Falls is very pretty, and full of restaurants / fast food)

San Francisco - Hotel Nikko (very cute and is in a strategic place. You get to walk very well at the terminus of the cable car that leads to Fisherman's Wharf and other important places in SF and gabiottino to make the ticket. Has your Starbucks store in the hotel, and many others for dinner and lunch). Opposite the hotel there is HERZ for the rental car, so really convenient!!
At the reception to let the city map. Really comfortable with all the buses.

Yosemite - Cedar Lodge (not very clean. We would have preferred the Yosemite View Lodge also because it has a small supermarket, a laundry, a pizzeria - but strongly discouraged because loooong dear, being the only one). The entrance to the park is near! You can walk around with your machine without problems. The ranger will give you a useful map entry. If you can, go immediately to the National Park Pass, which costs $ 80 per vehicle and applies to all federal parks (except that Monument Valley is $ 10 per vehicle, and Dead Horse Point - Canyonlands)
Nearby is a gas station.

Visalia - Comfort Inn (very nice!! Clean and has a huge parking lot side). Better parked along the road because those are temporary. The reception desk will give you a leaflet to be put on the dashboard to show that staying there. Let us also give the map of restaurants / fast food in the city, really helpful.

Bakersfield - Best Western Hill House (not very clean. We loved it. Even the town)

Death Valley - Furnace Creek Ranch (to be avoided). Aesthetically it is very nice, also the petrol station a few steps, but the rooms are not the best. The room is full of bugs (oh well we are desert, but the rooms we pay). The only restaurant that is open evenings only and is quite expensive. There is a bar / restaurant that does a little pain. I think the best is Furnace Creek Inn

Las Vegas - Mirage (which say .... the most beautiful hotel of the trip). Chamber of true luxury, something never seen before!
At the center of the strip leading to LV

Zion - Best Western Zion Park Inn (very nice park and walking distance from here you can visit with your machine. The Rangers will give you a map of the park, very useful)

Bryce Canyon - Best Western Ruby's Inn (great!! Has a large supermarket, post office to buy stamps, fast food, the petrol ... well ALL). The room very clean and large with microwave (over the minibar in America have all hotels). The park is close by and visited with their car.

Moab - Red Stone Holiday Inn (the hotel we did not like. Small room, maybe we were fed a room with a bed instead of two. He, however, the laundry.'s Near Arches NP and the Scenic Byway 128. Canyonlands is a little farther, but not too much. However, there are signs. There is also the famous "Hole 'n The Rock", a shop that has been dug into the rock. It is located just outside of Moab, about 7 miles (going towards south, and opposite the bridge over the Colorado River).

Monument Valley - Gouldings Lodge (it is amazing to say the least!) If you're ever like us in the rooms with balcony overlooking Monument Valley would be perfect! A breathtaking sunset. Entering the Monument is near. You can visit with your machine (cost $ 10 per vehicle. There is a pass) even if you recharge clay. But it's worth it!
There is a large supermarket and a petrol station just below the hotel.
Along the road to get to Monument (if coming from Moab like us) can do the "famous" photo of the valley to where Forrest Gump stopped after the long race for the Americas.

Page Lake Powell - Lake Powell Resort and Marina (Nice, but if you happen with the lake view is better. We've come to view with parking. The lake view is more expensive). To enter the port Wahweap Marina, where the hotel is, you always show your pass, because part of the national parks. Nearby is the entrance to 'Upper Antelope Canyon. It is shortly after the Navajo power plant (it's huge, tall chimneys are 3). However, there is a sign: Upper Antelope Canyon. Just to enter the parking lot you pay $ 6 per person and then the entrance to the Canyon are $ 25 per person. I recommend the visit of 12:00. If there is no place, make a reservation for the next day, it's worth it!

Grand Canyon - Maswik Lodge (none of that. Out in the woods and a bit lost compared to other hotels. The only restaurant is a nice little expensive). It is located just inside the park.

Kingman - Quality Inn (Bellissimo. The typical American hotel with parking in front of the room. Swimming pool very nice and very quiet. The laundry is just outside the rooms and breakfast is included).
The hotel is right on the famous Route 66. I recommend you go to eat at the Dam Bar & Steakhouse. Delicious dinner, good meat (T-Bone a spectacular and delicious cake brownies). The cost is not high.

Los Angeles - Omni Hotel (the hotel is decent, but nothing more). It is located in downtown LA and not far from the highways (even to get to Universal Studios is easy. Just get to the reception at the map with directions). To see the Hollywood sign you get to the viewpoint of Mulholland Drive (I recommend Drive and Road).

Total cost of the trip (2 persons)
-7578.00 Euros (night only, including flights (Rome-Frankfurt-Toronto, Toronto-San Francisco, Los Angeles-Zurich-Rome), airport taxes, car rental Class C (Mazda 6 with navigation, including full insurance), insurance with medical insurance ceiling to 50.000,00 EUR + max. unlimited
-Personal expenses: $ 3,824.09 (between Canada and U.S.), gasoline, gifts, parks pass, lunches, dinners, breakfasts, tours, Universal Studios, etc..

1st day – Rome/Frankfurt/Toronto

Departure at 06:55 a.m. for Toronto's (Canada) from Fiumicino Airport. Let's go to my father's house for dinner time, so do not risk waking up late. Sleep, or at least try because the emotion is very much up at 3:30 am.
I get up at once for fear it was late. We dress and we all go to the airport (I, Flavio, my father and my brother). We had a show ... just us! Come check-in, deliver your bags and look for the gate.
The emotion was very strong, I was more into the skin! I was nervous for the long journey to address air and at the same time happy because life was planning to go to the States. My heart was in 2000 and I felt faint. A feeling so I tried a few days during my first marriage. And 'enough to see Flavio altar for me faint! heheehhe
Luckily I managed to resist the airport, but it took so much strength! We flew with Lufthansa to Frankfurt and as usual, the "luck" would have it happen near the wing. Hour late, but we still arrived in time to catch the connecting flight to Toronto. It 'was an incredible race, especially since the Frankfurt airport is huge, but luckily the staff is very kind and antitrust claims are quite precise.
Here again I do panic. I started to cry like a baby because I knew I would not have lasted nine hours by air (I thought it was like the Roma / Frankfurt attached turbulence towards the end). But nothing but air!
The Air Canada is really good company. A spectacular air (and who has traveled so many hours?), Huge with many comforts.
Comfortable seats, television on every seat back, pillow and blankets. So this has reassured me a lot! As you can see that I have never traveled! Also here for our "luck" where captain? Just behind the wing. Well, 2 out of 2 is a pretty average!
We arrive at the airport in Toronto is really nice. Fortunately the luggage arrived with us?. We seek the person who had come up from the airport and we would have guide for all 3 days (or so we understood) and instead to do nothing. Wait an hour to no avail, so we try to call from your phone, but does not work! We look for a phone booth and we can not even get through from there. In short, the ball was going and eventually go to the Information Center and a very kind young man gives us his phone call. Moral of the story, the lady was at home and we would contact the following evening for the tour of Toronto, in fact we had to do everything ourselves.
At this point it was so much better! Take a taxi, even the limo driven by an Arab. We pay $ 55 Canadian (travel + tip) and we arrive at the hotel. We check in and go in our room! The room is huge, clean and with views of skyscrapers. It was like being in New York. Freshen up a bit and go down in the Hall.
We call a map of the city and we do mean what are the best places to see. While we're at, we make a reservation for the next day tours for Niagara Falls.
On foot we walk towards the CN Tower, the tallest tower in the world. Let the ticket ($ 43.98 Can. In two) and take the elevator to the top! A spectacular view! We are shooting for 360 degrees and we see the Toronto and Lake Ontario. The tour continues and we go to a point where there is a glass floor (glass floor). Does walking really feel and look down to 553 meters high!
There we also do photography for the modest sum of $ 23 can. We make a turn for the shopping center and go out. We see the Rogers Centre (Skydome) a huge baseball stadium. We continue our tour on foot and strictly try the famous Yonge St., the longest street in the world. We walk so with map in hand, but nothing to do we can not find. Do so many photographs and then we look at the Eaton Centre, the largest shopping mall in Toronto. After so we can find it and unwittingly we also find Yonge St.. However, the mall is really huge in the basement there is even an underground station. Unbelievable! Have dinner with fries, hot dogs and cola do one last tour night in the hotel and go dead tired. I collapsed almost immediately. Tomorrow we expect the tour to Niagara Falls hotel booked previously.

2nd day – Niagara Falls

The night I could not sleep much because of time zone. Wake up at 6:30 and go to breakfast after the mythical Starbucks coffee where we take two values (they give you a great big glass) and 2 cherry muffins (heavy). Our stomach is still not used to this kind of food, plus we go from a diet super spurgante lasted a good 3 months. We return to the hotel and the bus arrives at 8:30 to bring accurate to Niagara Falls. Our group consisted of only nine people (including me and Flavio). Unfortunately the weather is not great, overcast with the threat of rain. At approximately 10:30 we arrive at the falls. We stop to make some panoramic pictures and begins to rain. But fortunately does not last long! We go, again coach the entrance of the "Maid of the Mist, the famous boat that takes you right under the falls. Let the ticket (included in ticket organized tour) we take the blue raincoat and climb on the boat. Together we came too Angy, a Mexican girl who was part of our group. The upper level was already full of people so we had to come downstairs that perhaps it was better because we have less wet. Armed with camera and camera begin to take photos and video at full blast. The water we got was a lot, but it was too good. We also met a family of Italians.
From the boat I Angy Flavio and we went for a walk among the shops and attractions of Niagara Falls. It was like being in Las Vegas or at the Luna Park. It 's all great, shops, cars, food! We stopped to eat in a kind of McDonald's (Wendy's, which later proved to be the best ever on a par with Burger King) very nice and clean and I must say that we ate well (although now the diet is going to be blessed!).
At 15:00 we had an appointment with the rest of the bus stop to go to a small shop where they produce wine. As soon as we arrive at the bus stop, it starts to rain. Well what to say, we were very lucky, now the tour was almost over! The wine shop was not great. Us to try the white wine, red and rosé. I did not like the red, the other two! At this point the coach takes us back everyone in their accommodation. It 'was a good day, except time, and besides seeing the falls (the larger, truly beautiful) Angy we met a very nice Mexican girl with whom we exchanged email. The tour at the end it cost $ 105 apiece and can include the transport and waterfalls at the hotel, the boat "Maid of the Mist" and the visit to the shop where they produce wine. In the evening we stayed at the hotel because it was raining outside and there was very windy. We were tired, we had dinner and I went to sleep even dressed. Tomorrow we expect the honeymoon itself and can not wait. First stop, San Francisco.

3rd day – Toronto/San Francisco

Finally the day arrived. The departure for SF. Wake up as usual at all hours of the night. The zone is a mess!! Download photos and video on the laptop and burn all. More than anything we do for fear of metal detectors that could demagnetize cards. We always do breakfast at Starbucks (now for me is a myth), but this time we take coffee in small glass (tall) and two banana cakes, chocolate and cinnamon (also heavy). After a while, the waitress comes to offering all customers a cup of cappuccino with whipped cream and a small cake with banana. What a sight!
We return to the hotel, we call us a taxi and go to the airport. Was delay in bringing a little, we will have taken a little too convenient. We had a flight at 11:55 and we left the hotel at 9:15. There was some traffic, but we still arrived on time. We check in, we compile a lot of modules (we even take fingerprints and photos of the retina ... like in the movies) and finally we board punctual. We fly once again with Air Canada. We met a lot of turbulence during the trip, but we finally arrived safe and sound once again.
Take the shuttle (booking site http://www.supershuttle.com Italy) which leads directly to the hotel. We sincerely room accommodation that we expected a little more beautiful, because the Japanese hotel (Hotel Nikko). We give a refreshed, take a map of the city hall and start the tour. We are struck by the fact that we have everything on hand, bus, cable car, shops, etc. .. Patrizia, the travel agent was really good!! The hotel at the end will not be much, but so we just sleep, what matters is who is in a central point!
Lunch, so to speak because they were 16:00, in a Mexican restaurant in the hotel and then, as the first destination we decided to go see Columbus Avenue, the Italians and the way we get there strictly on foot. Indeed is full of Italian restaurants, a little Americanized. We even stopped for a refreshing Sicilian ask if we had chosen the restaurant for the evening. We continue on foot and finally arrive at the famous Fisherman's Wharf. Beautiful and full of people. It was 17:00 and the sun was going down that was really romantic. Shoot as many pictures and go straight to Pier 39 to see the sea lions and shops, including the famous "Bubba Gump". The day meteorologically speaking, wonderful. Lots of sunshine and little wind. We continue our walk along the seafront and arrive at Pier 43. Tired from the trip, but happy we go on foot to the hotel. San Francisco is full of ups and downs, with slopes absurd. We arrive at the hotel dead tired.
We bring in the supper room always taken the same Mexican restaurant in the afternoon, but Flavio because my stomach still has to get used to American junk food! We download some photos on your PC and go to sleep. The next morning we expect San Francisco in all its beauty!

4th day – San Francisco

We get up at 6:30 after a nice shower and get ready to face a long and rich day. First you buy the ticket, "Priority Pass" is a whole day and with whom we can take all the buses, shuttles, cable cars in San Francisco. Costs $ 11 per person. So we now world famous "cable car" from the terminal on Market St. which leads directly to Fisherman's Wharf. Looking for somewhere to have breakfast and meet people along the way? The mythical IHOP. It did not seem real, the first real American breakfast. We order a dish with sausage, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes. In addition, always included in the price but I take the french toast and pancakes Flavio. Instead we drink the usual American coffee that I like very much.
We continue our tour, but this time on a full stomach and head towards the Pier 33 to book a trip to Alcatraz. Unfortunately tickets for the day were all completed. If wanted, there was room for 9:00 the following day. Burst into tears because I was convinced that the next day we had to go to Yosemite. I try to convince the girl with tears behind the doors, but nothing doing. We still tickets for the next day ($ 52 in two) and decide to go to Herz, who fortunately is opposite the hotel, where we rented the car for our whole trip. We wanted to know if we could get the car that night, so go the next day at Pier 33 on our own and just finished the tour we went to Yosemite. In short, between one thing and another car was not ready, or better, but there was no GPS. Speaking always feel appoint "Sunday" the lady. We did not understand why. Moral of the story, I see the voucher that the machine had to take the Sunday and not Saturday. I apologize to two hundred times and it looked like someone had lifted a weight from his belly. With that in Toronto we were only 2 days, but I did not remember that San Francisco had to stay 4 days and 3 nights. So, back to the hotel relaxed and resume the tour finally calmer. Resume bus, but this time the No. 28 always using our step includes the morning to go to Alamo Square. Begins to rise and make a strong chilly wind. Ventosissima and San Francisco is pretty cool! We arrive at the Alamo and see first the "seven sisters", photographed Victorian houses around the world. It 's a really beautiful area, it seems our "Parioli, Rome. A garden well maintained, clean and green, with a section devoted to dogs.
From here we take the bus No. 28 and come to the Japanese Tea Garden. It seems some of our Villa Borghese, is still beautiful. To join you pay $ 5 per person. Towards late afternoon we take the bus, the No. 29 and go to Golden Gate Bridge. Spectacular! There is a beautiful viewpoint to take photographs. The wind is strong and is also chilly.
After all the usual photo, resume bus No. 28 to return to Fisherman's Wharf, but the driver left us a few kilometers before, or near Ghirardelli Square. At first we sent it nearly to that country, but then showed us a scenic route to leave the breath. Too bad that it was nearly 18:00 and the sun was setting, but the photos came the same well. In practice we went to the park Fort Marton, we reviewed the Golden Gate Bridge in all its glory, but this time the front (spectacularly!) And the island of Alcatraz seemed to be very close to us and the end (on foot) we arrived at Ghirardelli Square.
We stop near Pier 43 and take the cable car to the hotel. Eat something in the room and immediately go to sleep. Tomorrow we expect the visit to Alcatraz.

5th day – San Francisco/Alcatraz

Wake up at 6:00 and ready for the trip to Alcatraz. We have breakfast in the bar of Pier 33, where you take the ferry to the island. At 8:30 we were already in line for boarding. Americans are a unique precision. The departure of the vessel was to be at 9:00 and at 9:00 we left split. Ditto the row. A row mileage, but in an instant we were on the ship!
The day today is wonderful and it was not hot yesterday! We descend from the ship and begin the guided tour with map in hand and headphones with an explanation in Italian. The prison is really nice. Do some impressive to see these places in person!
The tour lasted 2 ½ hours-3 hours.
Back on land we decide to see "Aquarium of the Bay." The ticket cost $ 31.90 in two. It 'was pretty neat. In the basement, then goes through a transparent tunnel swim lots of fish, rays, sharks, etc. ..
It 'now time for lunch, then we stop and eat at Pier 39 in one of the many restaurants.
At 15:00, since we did not know where to go because Twin Peaks was too far away, we decide to make a nice trip to Sausalito. We do note that it costs $ 19 per person round trip. We start at 15:30 and arrive in Tiburon, but only in passing. Let the pictures from the ship. 'S beautiful. All wooden houses that seem fake as they are pretty, with a meadow green landscaped waterfront. Departure for Sausalito. Here we go down and take a walk along the seafront. Here too all houses and wooden chalets. It looks like a postcard for what is beautiful! The departure was scheduled for 18:00, arriving at Pier 39 at 19:00. Next, try Denny's for dinner, though I had very little hunger. Unfortunately we do not find and then we take the bus back to the hotel. C stop in a kind of Burger King (Carl's Jr.) and bring everything in the room as usual. Dead tired, we go to sleep because tomorrow we expect a good day, especially as we drive the car for the first time. Fortunately Hertz is in front of the hotel, so we must not lose time with their suitcases.
caratteri piccoli caratteri medi caratteri grandi

6th day – San Francisco/Yosemite

Wake up at 6:00 as usual. Place the bags, we check out and go to breakfast at Starbucks which is right inside the hotel. This time we take the frappuccino, but did not know it with ice. These Americans put ice everywhere. They own the bins of ice.
Anyway, back to the hotel, we pack up and cross the street to go to Hertz. We were advised to go an hour before because of the row of people. We arrived at 9:00 and luckily there was nobody. After drawing the document gives us the keys and we garage. We see that the car is wonderful. A Mazda 6 Metallic Grey. Spacious and comfortable. The 2 large suitcases and trolley to enter the lucky door luggage (we were really worried). Flavio is a little practice with the commands, using navigator in Italian and we move to Yosemite. Driving these cars with automatic gears is a show!
As always we get lost and then the highway. After paying $ 4 a motorway I doubt that the browser no longer had a record of the path. Take the first turn and we recalculate the navigator. Fortunately, after some re-used to resume the right way, but we lost an hour and pretty good.
Along the way the landscape changes completely. Beautiful with high mountains and the road that followed the path of the meandering Merced River finally arrive at the hotel, Cedar Lodge. None of that, packed full of Mexicans (and there were also worried by the swine flu). The room is huge, but not very clean. In short, there is nothing like it, but luckily only had to stay overnight. We give a quick freshen up and go immediately once the Yosemite View Lodge, which is the hotel where I read that started hiking through the park. We are told only that the park entrance is just ahead and just. Now had made the 16:00 and had Tardini. Take the car and we go to Yosemite itself. We stop in front of the entrance itself with the ranger in gabiotto that gives us the map of the park and a receipt saying that today the entrance was free. We believe that luck !!!!!
We start looking where he was with parking for tour buses. But no, we do not find anything. The landscape is still breathtaking. We stop constantly to take pictures. After awhile there is a doubt. But you see that here we do everything ourselves with our car? It was also Tardini, 17:00 and thought never to have time to see everything. Also because I tried absolutely viewpoint with the Yosemite Valley, which is not found. We therefore return the next morning, but with the tour. We continue our ride by and I sometimes I glanced at the helm of Routard (very useful, a better guide than this I do not think there is!) And see if he said something interesting. Well, I read that the Glacier Point at sunset was beautiful to see. We were almost there at sunset and then decide to follow the advice. And fortunately we did, because what we encounter along the way? The famous viewpoint of the valley was looking for, with the winter falls waterfalls, El Captain el'Half Dome. With the sun almost at sunset, the park is a wonderful thing. The bright colors and the air crystal clear! We could choose the best time of day.
We do lots of photos and we continue our tour. To get to Glacier Point you put about an hour and the road is quite twisty, but in the end it was worth it. The guide was right Routard. At sunset the view is breathtaking. The valley opened before our eyes in all its glory. It also saw the Sierra Nevada with snow.
We decide to return to the hotel. We had now seen for themselves all the park and then tour the next day decide not to. Reset the way for the browser and as always we understand evil. But it was fortunate because we enter a car with winter falls right in front. We found the path to reach just below the falls. A spectacle never seen before. Very little was missing at the sunset and the mountain tops were illuminated by a bright red. The falls from below with the wind was high and splashing water refreshed us.
We decide to go back to the hotel, but this time seriously. He began making night and the park is dark. We absolutely must remember to go the next day for gas in the one gas station that is near the Yosemite View Lodge. We dine at this hotel because we read that there is a Pizza Restaurant. Definitely expensive, since there is only that hotel (as well as ours, but not very convincing). For two huge pizzas and two coca cola $ 44.10. There's got a shot, but had to wait! While I was going to see even the laundry, but unfortunately it did not dry. Forget it, back to the hotel and sleep in beds very uncomfortable. Tomorrow we face the Giant Sequoias of Sequoia NP
caratteri piccoli caratteri medi caratteri grandi

7th day – Yosemite/Visalia

Always wakes up at 6:00 in the morning. We check out and go back to the Yosemite View Lodge because Flavio comes to mind that there are dryers and then we can make a washing machine. Changing money (25 cents. X 4 for the washing machine that takes 25 minutes while, 25 cents. X 3 for the dryer that takes 45 minutes) and we play our first washing machine.
Ah! Granted, we had to buy because they do not provide the detergent. Luckily everything went well (though the clothes seem a little smaller). Meanwhile, we expected we had breakfast with a soft cookie and coffee instead of the usual heavy and we got a white chocolate cappuccino. This too heavy loooong! Depart from hotel at 11:00 (late unfortunately) and we go for petrol. It gives us a hand a gentle lady, but the end was simple. Final game in the direction of Visalia. We arrive at the hotel at 14:00 and was late for a visit to Sequoia Park. The reception desk could not find our reservation. There was almost taken a shot at the end and instead it went through. The room is beautiful and great. The hotel in general is amazing. And 'the Comfort Suites. Next there is even a huge parking lot for cars. Inside the hotel (you know before) are also laundry and gym. Given the time we decide to take a walk and see the town, since it is very pretty. Go to the park early in the morning calm. At the reception they give us a useful map of shops and restaurants in town (it's done really well). In the evening we decided to buy something and eat in the room because the town was pretty, yes, but we did not feel very safe. I can for the first time to call home with Skype and also connect to the Internet for free (up to now had all the connections for a fee. In this hotel but it's free).
Tomorrow it's off to the Park of the Sequoias. They say that with a 30 minute drive to get there. We'll see!
caratteri piccoli caratteri medi caratteri grandi

8th day – Visalia/Sequoia National Park

This time we have breakfast from IHOP with traditional pancakes, strawberry pancakes, bacon, eggs, potatoes and sausages. Something really heavy. The coffee was good though. We go out like balloons filled and depart for Sequoia NP. With 30 minutes to reach the entrance to the visitor center. This time we make the National Park Pass for the modest sum of $ 80 (for 1 year and allows entry to all federal fee areas protected). Then it takes another half hour to get in the park itself. The road is full of twists and turns, but the view is beautiful. But even the shade of redwoods. At one point there who cross the road? A nice brown bear cub. Unfortunately for the emotion I can not do the shooting, but only a few blurry photos. Unfortunately we could only see the bear, is already so oh well, these things happen once! Cmq was a great experience! Instead of squirrels there are in industrial quantities. You begin to see the first redwoods. They are huge and have a light brown / dark and seem to be drawn. We reach the first trail. We follow, always with the car (the beauty of these parks is that you can decide if you visit on your own by car or take the shuttle interior very frequent) the indications that lead us to the parking lot of General Sherman. Parked and we walk the path (beginning all downhill, but then to return ....). We arrive before the Sequoia that was huge! Usual customary pictures and we are moving into other trails. Luckily there were not many people. Resume the machine and look for the point where there is the "Tunnel Log", the redwood where you can spend with the machine. We find it just follow the signs to Moro Rock and cmq also the plant that gave us the ranger at the beginning was very useful!
We arrive at the Tunnel Log, again with the usual photo machine in the opening and then we go to Moro Rock. We were curious about what we could see. We park and discover that Moro Rock need to see the whole mountain to climb and reach the top. We decided to address the matter. We start with the stairs are not too steep, but then becomes increasingly narrow and sloping. The view is spectacular, we surely highest Glacier Point. We do lots of photos and video. Finally reached the top and look out of breath. A performance at 360 °. Then, go down and resume the machine direction Backersfield. They had made 15:00 and calculating that we bring at least two hours, was better off. The landscape changes completely. Becomes almost deserted. We arrive at the hotel (Best Western Hillhouse, nothing more) and the heat is stifling. Seem to have a hair dryer pointed at him. Let's go out and find some place to dine (although breakfast at IHOP the morning still walking along the stomach). We do not find anything open. The town is nice with the typical American houses, with front garden and parking side. The roads are huge. A nice little disappointed back in the hotel. Luckily there was free internet. I try and connect the city's restaurants. I found quite a bit right near our hotel, but on the opposite side of where we went. And then we can find a market to buy water (which did make it pay a lot) and then two ice cream for dinner.
We return finally to the hotel and go to bed dead tired. The climb begins at Moro Rock farsisentire. Tomorrow it's off to Furnace Creek.

9th day – Bakersfield/Death Valley

Always wakes up at the usual time, 6:30 / 7:00 and immediately seek a place for breakfast and especially gasoline. Let's go to IHOP for the second time and take the same menu. This time was enough pesantuccio, is that there still remained on his stomach that damn pizza outlet at Yosemite View Lodge. Let petrol and left for Death Valley. I could not wait, it was a life waiting for this moment. The landscape began to become desert and it was really wonderful. Along the way we stop a lot of times, and for the first time I put my driving. Driving here is a show! It 'really easy because you do not do anything. It 's all automatically. But after a while you take a sleepy because by doing nothing and being all straight roads get bored quite a bit.
Not arrive too early, it was 16:30, in Furnace Creek Ranch, we go for check-in and a hot blast of hot air makes us gasp. A not so hot we had ever heard. It was not wet, but it was unbearable. There were no exaggeration 50 ° C. We enter the room and was not exactly the best. The ugly is that there were many creatures that flitted here and there. We think, eat a hotdog on the fly, take the map of Death Valley that gave us the reception and go immediately to visit the most famous places. Badwater start with. Luckily there was very few people. The street then it was just us. I will pay the entrance to the Valley, but no nothing ... just as well (although it still had the National Park Pass, but perhaps not worth the Death!). At Badwater was really hot. It was to die! After the usual ritual photos in front of the sign I read that there is a weather station! Even in Death Valley I find something that talks about the weather. We continue our trail and go to Devil's golf. There he met an Italian couple. In the valley of death were only us 4. Continuing along the road we turn to Artist Drive with its artist's palette. A show ever seen. Fortunately we arrived late and then we visited Death Valley at sunset because I think at this hour is the ideal time to visit both for the temperature for the colors, beautiful!
Have now made 19:00 and try to go too Zabriskie Point. Luckily we manage to arrive on time in time before the sun sets. The colors are very strong and bright. A show in every sense. But we do not make time to see Dante's View but we hope to visit it tomorrow since that is the road to Las Vegas. Happy with the beautiful day we return to the hotel, but not too happy because of the animals that roamed the room. We in the sole petrol filling station located in the downstream (right next to our hotel). We go to dinner there the only steak house there and also quite expensive (it was normal). Eat well and happily go to sleep. We leave the bathroom light switched on so that insects Seguin light. Sleep a little agitated.

10th day – Death Valley/Las Vegas

We get up as soon as possible and the bathroom, having left the lights on all night was full of insects. On the walls, the floor even on the toilet. Something shocking. Kill them all we hurry up and get dressed and make the check out to go to Las Vegas. There certainly will be the hotel and it truly can not wait to go there for that.
We have breakfast in Furnace Creek Ranch and always go away. Along the way we see the road sign indicating Dante's View. The time to decide to go there and see what it was since all I had said it was wonderful and I had also read the guide Routard (very useful and very practical). We arrive after about 20 km (not imagined it so far), but it is certainly worth the effort. A breathtaking view over the valley of death. From your breath away. The temperature was too high.
Resume without stopping the machine and this time we go to Sin City, Sin City or Las Vegas. Guido always me, now we've got taste! We arrive and how we imagined it was quite busy. We find in the confusion our hotel, the Mirage, but to understand where to park it took us a while. Then we followed the signs "self parking" free and we parked near the elevators leading to the next room check-in. Give us the room key and map of the hotel. When we open the room door remain open mouth. In mind that we still had the day before the Death Valley full of insects. This was a palace. Huge and luxurious! From the window you could see the Caesar's Palace and the Mirage pool. A show!
After fixing luggage and documents with the PC in safe, go out more than anything else to eat because we had not had lunch. Finally we go to Denny's, which is right in front of them! Las Vegas day is a shocking and chaos is a city like any other, however, is always particular. Around 19:00 we see the spectacle of the fountains in front of the Bellagio. Beautiful! Approaches in the evening and the lights start to look at. At 21:00 return to the hotel already tired because the Strip, the main road through all major hotels and casinos, is enormous. Change and we do it again. We would eat in one of those huge buffet like that of Paris suggested by all, with only $ 25 because you eat everything you want, but we still had sandwiches for lunch on the stomach.
So give up eating and above all see the show at 22:00 of the volcano erupting in front of the Mirage. Even this beautiful. But we arrive too late for the show to Tresure Island, the pirate boat. Too bad, we can only see the end. Well, it will be the excuse to return to LV. We continue the tour along the strip and decided to go to see Las Vegas from the Stratosphere Tower. The feet are so many miles, it seemed never to arrive. To know there were going. We arrive at last and we expect the metal-detector row (we miss the airport). I state that the ticket cost $ 14.95 per person. We climb to the 108th floor and out of the elevator opens up before my eyes a spectacle never seen before. Las Vegas lit up the eye. We do a lot of pictures and then go down almost immediately because at 23:30 was the last show of the boats of pirates Tresure Island. This time we decide to take the bus ($ 3 one-way ticket). Unfortunately we had the money and healthy on the bus the driver had no rest. So we are forced to descend. Changing money at the Stratosphere casino and take the next one. We get a lot of time after the Luxor. It was now midnight and the show was beautiful to Tresure finished. To our amazement, we realize that at midnight everything was off. Las Vegas closes its doors at that hour. Bella disappointment, huge! We are really down because we needed to see the Luxor, New York, New York, Excalibur, Paris, the MGM and others. Some were still burning, but others do not. Only the casinos stay open until late at night, the lighting and restaurants close at midnight instead. Sad then try a kiosk in the afternoon we had seen in Paris hotel, selling the cocktail glasses and Eiffel Tower-shaped balloon. Nothing doing, the kiosk was closed. Then try to enter the casino and look for the bar. We think that maybe they also sell them. At first we saw them, but then my eye hawk sees many Eiffel Tower lined up behind the counter. We are delighted because they cost as those of the kiosk. We take only one and we fill Strawberry Margarita. Excellent ... .. with a straw and high! We go out and now it was one o'clock at night and then decide to return to the hotel. On the streets there were only drunk, not too girlie for good and bums. So by the evening VIP to utter desolation. We throw on the bed with feet who smoked. Fortunately the bed was ultra comfortable, so much so that the next morning we woke up at 8:30 because that was the third night.

11th day – Las Vegas/Zion National Park

We get up late, at 9:00. Let's take a quick shower and we decided to go see the Secret Garden with the dolphins on the ground floor of the Mirage. So, to get to Zion we bring you and not two and half hours. The Secret Garden opens at 10:00, pay the ticket, which costs $ 15 per person and enter. First we look at the tanks with dolphins that are really wonderful. Do some acrobatics and descend all'interrato to see the bathtub water. Then, go to another pool where dolphins are mother, father and son. Very tender! Even they do do some acrobatics. We head to the secret garden where there is a kind of sheep / blade all hairy, in another cage but there was the white lion with lioness, yet another black panther and then the tiger, white tiger and a cheetah too cute puppy. You do 11:15 and begins to be too late because the room had to leave at 12:00 and we still had to pack to take.
So we go up our things and go down to check out. The row was time, but within minutes we can do everything. We head towards the car which luckily we parked not too far from the lifts, we program the navigator and we move to Zion. We were not even able to have breakfast and then down the road, but after quite a while we stop at McDonald's, where lunch because he was now lunch time. Allocated, and we enter Utah where we change the time and the system the clock forward an hour (unfortunately in doing so we lose an hour). We arrive around 17:00 local time at the Best Western Zion Park Inn Springsdale, do the usual check in and go in the room time to accommodate luggage. Here also free internet everywhere, in fact the phone each evening to their families with Skype. The hotel was beautiful, all wood and the rooms were spotless! Then we go to Park Zion National Park entrance to show our pass to Yosemite and we had done the tour. All national park can be seen by car or own or with the free shuttle passing frequently inside. We have always preferred to make our own way we were free to stop to take photos. The only difference is that the other parks in Zion with the car can only travel the main road. Internal ones, because pollution can only be accessed with the shuttle, or even with your machine, but showing permission if you are staying in a hotel inside the park itself. We tried the same revenue in this way, but immediately suffered a police car stopped us. Luckily I went very slowly and the policeman who has had even our age has understood very well that we did not want to do anything wrong and we just said to go back. By the time we did reverse also expected and when we stopped in lay-by along the highway stopped to see if we came back. Awesome!!
However, continue our path and the sky began to deteriorate in fact begins to thunder and rain, but everything is hard and not 15 minutes after the sun comes out strong. The colors become even more heated with the approach of sunset was all the more beautiful. Now visit them all the parks at sunset, because we have seen that there is less people and the colors are much brighter. As soon as we decide to go back, we meet an Italian couple with whom we exchange some photos and info. We return to the hotel and take the dirty clothes to wear to the laundry that was in the country. Also in chips ($ 1.25 to wash and $ 0.75 for the dryer). Closed at 22:00, but it was better hurry because otherwise we were late for the U.S. food because restaurants tend to close all early, about 20:30 / 21:00. At 21:00 we return to the hotel and try to always go to a restaurant there, but unfortunately was already closed so we decide to go to the pub next fortunately closed much later. We finally fries with bacon and cheese that we could not eat in St. Francisco and then a roll-to-head with other chips, but the sandwich was as big as my head. I can not eat anything unfortunately. Just like two balloons filled, we go out and give us a ride to the hotel that night was really good. The whole row of wooden rooms on two floors in front of their cars (like in the movies). Returning to your room and fall into a deep sleep. The next morning we waited for Bryce Canyon Navajo Loop Trail with adjoining + Queens Garden.

12th day – Zion National Park/Bryce Canyon

We had to get up at 6:30, but we have definitely gone back to sleep and we woke up at 7:30. We program the navigation direction Bryce Canyon and discover that the way to go back into the park in Zion. Thank goodness we pass to the parks, otherwise we would have had to pay $ 25 more. We have breakfast in a little shop in town and then, given that we had to go over in Zion we decide to go see the shuttle with the roads inside the car that unfortunately could not. We park just after the entrance in the parking lot where there is also the museum and after a short bus arrives. We arrive at the Zion Lodge and there we go. I honestly thought best, the most beautiful is undoubtedly the main one that everyone can do with the machine. Try the trails for pools, but we read the maps on display that will last at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours. Nothing to do, we do not have much time unfortunately, we go to Bryce Canyon. So we take the shuttle to the parking lot and depart permanently. It was 10:30 and we arrive at the Best Western Ruby's Inn at around 13:00. The place is beautiful peno of shops inside the hotel with even two petrol pumps. We check in and as always give us the map of the hotel because the rooms were arranged at the lodge with parking in front. In addition to the reception, the hotel also has a post office (for stamps), a supermarket, a souvenir shop, restaurant and a kind of McDonald's. Fortunately the Internet here is free everywhere.
So, we eat in this sort of McDonald's that we really liked about 15:00 and take the car and after a mile we enter the park Bryce Canyon. Always show our pass and the Rangers, as always gives us the detailed map of the park with several trails. Even then drive the park with their cars and we stop at the viewpoint that we are all on the road. We naturally see them all and do a lot of photos and video. The landscape is beautiful and in the afternoon is even more so because the colors are always stronger. Become 17:00 and last viewpoint we decide to do the famous Navajo loop trail more Queens Garden. I had read that the first was lost, but the rush we saw only the signs of the second. Never mind, because the two trails come together at some point and then you have to have them both. Sure what we were about to begin addressing the descent along the canyons and pinnacles. The show is wonderful. Tall steeples and red sand, pink, white. We did it in 1000 and no photographs. At first it is all downhill and then flat calm enough, but as you know, each involves a climb and descent, arrived after a long time (they had already made the 19:00) intersection with the Navajo Loop trail starts to get more lively. The landscape changes completely as you pass here among the trees, and pinnacles. Even nicer, but eventually begins the famous climb ... and climb! Should compensate for the downhill start. Well, I was pretty tough, but doable. We arrive at the top dead tired and go immediately to the hotel. Market to buy breakfast for tomorrow so we lose less time, and then dinner at the sort of McDonald's for the evening, so we go to bed not too late. Let's take a nice hot shower and then heated rolls in the microwave that was in the room, the minibar in all their hotels.
We connect to the internet a bit, load the battery of cameras and camera and go to bed. Tomorrow we expect 4 hours by car to get to Moab.

13th day – Bryce Canyon/Moab

We get up a little late, around 7:00 we have breakfast in the room with the things we bought the day before and we get in the car at a time of Moab. We expect 4 hours of driving. Along the way the landscape changes again and looks to be in Monument Valley. We stop a lot for photos because we want to arrive at the hotel as soon as possible. We stop to eat at Denny's situated right at the city and head to the hotel, the Redstone Inn. It 's all in wood and the rooms are a bit tiny, but it's pretty neat. Of course I used to huge rooms with two double beds even this comparison seems to be the room of the seven dwarfs. The beauty is that we must stay 3 nights!
Place the bags and decide to make us just a ride to the town that seems to be quite nice. It is very hot! We see some shops that sell a lot of cute little things, but I do not buy anything, so we have two more days left. We also pass the Vistor Center is always open on Sundays, to take the map of the places where movies were filmed. I read about this thing still on riding the Routard. We realize, however, that the map is not marked the precise points, but only in general seats. ... A little one. At this point it was better that I found on the Internet. By the way, even in the hotel's free internet, just to get the password from reception.
Let's go back in the room and I'm going to sleep. It was 17:00 and I had an incredible sleep. So there were more than a day so I took advantage to get a good night's sleep. I got up at 21:00, but we have not had dinner because we had eaten lunch time.
So we have arranged the photos on your computer and you are connected to the internet a little, then we went to sleep. Tomorrow, a visit to Canyonlands.
caratteri piccoli caratteri medi caratteri grandi

14th day – Canyonland/Arches National Park

We get up at 7:30, a little Tardini. We have breakfast at Burger King which is right outside our hotel and immediately go to visit Canyonlands. We stopped first to see Dead Horse Point. We pay $ 10 a ticket even if we pass, unfortunately, is not valid for this park. As always the ranger gives us the map and description of the place. Although this park is visited by car and who wants, can make the trail shown on the map. And 'morning and the pictures are not that great because the sun is too strong. Maybe because we are accustomed now to see all the places in the afternoon and at sunset! However, it is the same beautiful. It looks like a cross between Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Coming back we go to Canyonlands is a little more distant (a 30ina km). Here is our good fortune to pass otherwise would have to pay $ 10. Even here the map of the place we move with the machine and stop all viewpoint. Occasionally we do some small trail to photograph the best views. At one point, who meet at a viewpoint? The Italian couple who met at Zion. Incredible!
9:30 am we started to visit Dead Horse Point and Canyonlands then had become 14:00. Then we go into a hotel in Moab, we give a refreshed because underneath that sun we definitely cooked, and go eat at Wendy's. Resume car, petrol and we go to Arches NP that as the distance is much closer (only 2 miles.) Also here is a valid pass and gentle ranger gives us a map of the park into Italian. We start with the first viewpoint and by seeing the Balanced Rock. Soon after we see the turnoff for Delicate Arch decide to go see it because everyone said in the afternoon, even better at sunset. We park and we walk without knowing what awaited us! It was 17:30 when we started the trail to Delicate Arch and we arrived in front of the beautiful arch at 18:30 precise precise. An hour of beautiful and good even on steep climbs and descents, rock. Once at the top but the view is fabulous. It 'full of Japanese (aho are everywhere) who made pictures at any price, but eventually also came our turn. It is impressive to see that arch in small children. And 'huge, and not in the picture gives an idea!
It 'still get nerve and above must carry a good supply of water because there is no fountain. Need at least 1 ½ liters per person. I never made a trek so heavy that when the United States. By now you've made the 19:30 when we get to the parking lot. We can not see any other arc. We are sweaty and dirty sand so we decide to go to Moab for the supply of water, eat and buy something for breakfast tomorrow. In front there is a large supermarket and buy lots of water, a t-shirt for me and for breakfast tomorrow. Then we went to Burger King and buy two sandwiches to take away. Once in the room dead tired we take a long shower, eat, download pictures and videos, some surfing on the internet (since they take the opportunity here is free. I wonder if in the next hotel will be so) and go to sleep. Tomorrow we expect the other party strings, hoping not tough like today.

15th day – Arches National Park/Scenic Byway 128

We wake up this morning with calm around 8:00. We have breakfast with a bottle of chocolate milk and some biscuits bought the day before. Flavio sin but did not notice and cookies were peanut butter. Fantastic taste, seemed to eat with chocolate also peanuts. We leave around 9:30 and go back to Arches to see the other end of strings that were missing. First we see the Sand Dunes Arch, Pine Tree Arch and at the end of the famous Arch and Landscape Arch Duble, but only in the distance. Seemed close but no. They were also the sun was at 11:30 so the peak and the heat was incredible. We thought not to repeat the killed the day before with the Delicate Arch, and instead we were almost there. The Landscape is not as close as we were led to believe on the map. It 'true that is less demanding path, but those 4 km to go and so many back in the sun feel all right. However, we see and photograph them also. The Arches N.P. in the end loved it, too demanding and eventually the arches were not great, almost all the same. We return the car and finally at 13:30 we go from where we buy two Subway sandwiches for lunch and return to the hotel dead tired as usual. We connect to the internet and make a Skype video call to two of our neighbors. Then we take a shower and eat. They are made 15:30. We dress, we rest a bit and go out at 16:30 to go and see the famous 'Hole' n The Rock ", a shop that has been dug into the rock. Located just outside of Moab, about 7 miles (going south, then opposite the bridge over the Colorado River). We arrive at 17:09 and had just closed. What a rip-off, opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. But you can close shop at 17:00? Ok here are restaurants close at 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. Fortunately not matter because tomorrow to go to Monument Valley we do to force that way, then we come back tomorrow morning. Then we go to see the famous Scenic Byway 128, the scenic route along the Colorado River. It is coming out of Moab, but this time heading north. It is right and just before the bridge on the colorado river (having the city behind you). Kalymnos' (the overview) about 28 miles and two-way street is quite dangerous because the river flows right side and almost at street level. We liked it a lot, because we were surrounded by mountains. We thought best!! Back in town, let's see some shop to buy postcards, go to Pizza Hut and try to eat pizza again, hoping that this time is more good than eaten in Yosemite. We take you to the hotel and frankly is quite good. We leave and go to the laundry which is located inside the washing clothes. We have to wait a little because a lady had occupied all 3 washing machines, but finally we did. Between washing and drying passes an hour and a half. Let us go back to room, put the pack clean cloths and go to sleep. Tomorrow it's off to Monument Valley.

16th day – Moab/Monument Valley

We always like breakfast in the room with the bottle of chocolate milk and cookies purchased at the supermarket the day before, but now are cookies with chocolate chips and peanuts. We leave at 9:15, and take away the way to Monument Valley which passes right in front of the shop Hole 'n the rock. From a distance on the rock an inscription written with its huge HOLE 'N THE ROCK and an arrow indicating the store. Then we stop to look. Outside is nice and do some pictures. We enter the store itself, but it's all a scam!! The shop is huge and dug into the rock has access only to the first part, to visit with the "help" you had to pay $ 5 per person. Forget it and go out, because we have a peek inside and there was nothing interesting, plus you could not even take pictures and video. Then we go off to do another round where there is a small zoo (this charge) and a small market where we buy water. We go out and resume the machine, this time without stopping. We can not wait to get to Monument Valley, and then discounted the photos in the same place where was filmed the scene where Forrest Gump decides to stop the marathon. Fortunately the weather is beautiful and it's hot. The landscape turns from western movies and we get closer and closer to the point where the road to the photo. Here it is!! It's beautiful, like being inside the picture we have at home and watched every day and say, sooner or later I will stand there on that road!!
We do a lot of photos and also with us in the street, so there was no one! We go back into the car and go to the hotel. I recognize him from afar because I had seen on the internet. E 'was built directly on the wall of the mountain and the color of materials is equal to the rock (like all the hotels where we were. Here in America we take not to damage the landscape, not like in Italy!). We hope to have a room overlooking Monument Valley and even if on purpose, give us just that and also on the 1st floor. That is, the better could not happen! The show is "spectacular", I was about to move! I dreamed of this moment for a lifetime and finally came true. We also had a balcony. The room was really wonderful. Plus also had free internet. I do a lot of photographs at the scene and go for a ride to the shops that are there in the hotel and then find a place to eat.
We buy some postcards and other gift, then go out and let's see if the restaurant cook Takeaway. Nothing to do, if you want you have to sit down and we did not leave a tip again.
Then we went by car on the road and there were a lot of things: a gas station, a supermarket, carwash. We then made gasoline and entered the supermarket. We bought sandwiches for the next day, the slices, salami, mortadella and a box of knives, forks and plastic spoons so we could make it on us. Flavio dinner has taken a good spit. We returned to the hotel, we ate at 16:00 and we left to go and see this famous Monument Valley. At that moment a strong wind rises and swirls in the valley form a lot of dust. It almost seems like a sandstorm, never seen such a thing. The weather begins to deteriorate. The entrance is near the hotel, but sadly pass for the parks is not accepted (but we already knew). You pay $ 10 per vehicle. We park the car and seek entry to Monument Valley itself, but do not find it. There is only one big hotel where they were doing the work plus. We thought they had closed, but then why make us pay the entry? We see a dirt road that runs through the valley, but we see only jeep. We believe are those who organize tours of the Navajo, but then we see a sedan and another car similar to ours. But then you see that that road is just the way we do? In fact ..... the wind was not stopped and had also begun to pioviccicare. We go down with our machine and the soil is sandy. We just 2-3 photos on the fly or else we fill it with sand. Back into the car and continue the trail marked on the map they gave us entry (other than this seems to be made by a child of 4 years). The weather starts to improve, the wind stops and the sun comes out, finally. The valley is beautiful view from below. It 's weird to think that there have turned almost all the western movies seen on TV. Occasionally there is some Navajo stand where they sell beads or place objects made by hand. I buy a necklace and a pair of matching earrings very nice. We continue the tour and here too we meet some Italians, of Venice. By now you've made 19:00 and decided to return to the hotel. Let's take a shower and we put on the Latvian to look at that beautiful sunset over the valley. It seems to look a poster, and it's all true!! We have dinner, prepare sandwiches for the next day and then go to bed early because tomorrow we expect the Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon, also, that if we do it the same day.
caratteri piccoli caratteri medi caratteri grandi

17th day – Monument Valley/Lake Powell

We get up at 6:00 to leave at 7:00. The weather was cloudy, but we are still in Monument Valley .... we have to do 200 km and passes, maybe the weather here is beautiful. Useless, we approached more and more worse. She takes a nervous! Hell, the only day that rain was just what she must to Antelope Canyon and that makes? It rains and strong too! We arrive at the hut where they make a tour to the Canyon. The hut is on the left (coming from Monument Valley) and shortly after the Navajo power plant (it's huge, tall chimneys are 3). However, there is a sign: Upper Antelope Canyon. Just to enter the parking lot you pay $ 6 per person (NOT per vehicle and absurd .... The Navajo also make you pay the air). After paying and after entering we think, but if we wanted to do the tour now, but will make reservations for tomorrow (hoping the weather is good), make us pay the entry? Moreover by the proof that we did we realize that the entry time was different from what we had, or were the 8:30 instead of 9:30. So we get more soon!! Utah Arizona is an hour's difference. To know we got up an hour later. However, time did not improve and it rained a little. Strangely, the tours they did the same (I had read that if it rained they would not have made because there was danger of flooding of the canyon). We decide to book a visit to 12:00 the following day and then try to say to the Navajo entry if it does not make us the courtesy to pay the next day into the car. Fortunately there was kind and sign the receipt that is valid for writing tomorrow.
And now we do because it is 9:00 am and check in at hotels is usually at 14:00? We tried to go in the same hotel, the Lake Powell Resort & Marina located in the area Weahpea (this area is considered a national park and then we can use our passes, otherwise we would have paid even the entrance to the port!). Luckily the room is available, but by mistake I decide to take that on the 1st floor believing that he had the lake view. But no, we just made the kill to bring the suitcases to a plan with the stairs. Those lake views cost a little more. We remain quite a few in the hotel, so it was still raining outside. Lunch with the sandwiches we had prepared the night before and then we get to sleep until 15:00. We stand with our astonishment we come out from the balcony and see the sun! Finally, maybe the rain is finally over! I see now on the Internet (which is free here) forecasts for the next day and give a beautiful day, with cloudiness in the afternoon. Perfect, we both need to be looking in the morning. So go out and decide to go see the Glen Canyon Dam (always after consulting the leadership Routard formidable!). We arrive at the Visitor Center is on the left just before the bridge on the dam (coming from the parking Antelope Canyon) and read that you did not come with backpacks (but already knew xchè our guide Routard had written too). We are still left on a container, cameras, video camera, cell phone, wallet and belt .... we miss the airport!!
We pass under the metal detectors we take all our things and enter into the room where there is a big library, a beautiful model of the Glen Canyon and a series of videos.
We look out the windows and the view is amazing. The dam is huge and scary! We decide to do the tour with guide (in English as always, unfortunately) and look more closely at the dam. A coincidence that the 16:00 was the last the day arrived and we were in time to time. The cost is $ 5 per person. Formed the group begin the tour. A very nice girl and nice makes us get off the elevator up to the dam itself where we can walk freely and take pictures and video. He explains how it was built, what materials, etc. .... something I understand, but unfortunately not all!
Then, leads us in the engine room which was huge. 7 turbines of a size never seen!. Then, back on the lounge and the weather was deteriorating again. Throughout the visit lasted one hour. So they made the 17:00 and the Visitor Center was closing. He gets a strong wind and rain clouds riminacciavano blacks. We decided to go to Page that is near them. There are many shops and then finally we spend a lot of pennies and make gifts to everyone, so we removed the thought.
Meanwhile the rain stops and the sun finally comes out with him and a beautiful rainbow. We suffered lots of photos and returning to the hotel, along the road we stopped at every viewpoint to view and photograph. Rainbow, and Canyon Lake ... what a show!
We arrive at the hotel, arrange the gifts and we go to dinner. Return to Page and I always read the guidance Routard that's Strombolli ate quite well! So we decide to go there. There are a lot of wait (we arrived at 8:40, they close at 22:00 and we were seated at 21:15). We got pizza and I must say that was not bad, much better this Pizza Hut. Finished eating at the hotel and go back to bed. We were really tired. Tomorrow we expect the visit Antelope Canyon that could not wait to make such a long time, even the Horseshoe Band and then the long journey to the famous and beautiful Grand Canyon. Unfortunately the rain today has slowed down a little on the schedule, but we can do that too!

18th day – Lake Powell/Antelope Canyon e Horseshoband/Grand Canyon

We get up early in the morning, breakfast room and always with milk chocolate and cookies at 8:30 and we are already in the car. The day was wonderful, could not be clearer than that. He hot, but it was good. So we leave with a smile. First we look at the Horseshoe Band following the directions of Routard (simple and very easy). We park and we do a 15 minute walk in the sand and rock to reach the precipice where to watch this spectacle of nature. It 's a little difficult especially in the morning upon rising and the sun to peak!
But the show has taken all the trouble. Really beautiful. It 's weird being in a place that only ever saw in the picture, but now you're there in that picture too!
We do all the usual photo and back in the car direction Antelope Canyon. We arrive at the parking lot at 10:00 and the Navajo lady luck us to pass without making us pay for parking because it has maintained a valid receipt yesterday. There was already lots of people (compared to yesterday it rained and we were the only ones). Luckily we had booked the day before at 12:00 (which is the best time), although there were still places for the same hour. It 'probably the fact that it rained the day before, many people gave up thinking it was bad again today .... and did! We pay (in addition to the parking lot yesterday) $ 25 per person for us to bring the entrance of the Canyon and also for the Navajo guides (in English). We look forward to 12:00 and then the lady starts calling names so that we can deliver on the various trucks driven by Navajo. We understood an Indian doc, with long hair, boots, his belt and hat. Leads us along a dirt road full of sand to the entrance of the Canyon. Full of people, but I already knew. The various groups are beginning to enter fortunately not all at once, each trying to distance the other otherwise we could not do any photo.
There were also groups of photographers, however, pay a little more, I think $ 50 per person, but because it is a bullshit happening with other groups, would not be able to do well having all those photos before. This is organized very well. Should only take a fast track for photographers and have them enter in groups of 12 persons at most, but not cross groups of other people.
The Canyon is beautiful. The entrance is a vertical crack is not too big, but inside is a play of colors that make the sun perpendicular on the rock. That's why it is better to go to 12:00. The tour lasts approximately one hour and a half, including transportation to and from Canyon. As usual, there is also tipped to leave the Navajo guide (we left $ 2). Resume the machine and the sky begins to cloud. Heck, time time! Let's go eat at Burger King who was on the road and then heading to Grand Canyon. Along the way, the Flood beaks with strong wind. We also had to stop. That pizza, we could get to the Grand Canyon at sunset and instead this rain has ruined everything. We arrive at the south at 17:00 and was still raining. We show our passes and as always give us a detailed map with the different viewpoint and the usual newspaper (in Italian) with the various news on the Grand Canyon. Our hotel is right after all viewpoint, so we decide to stop it anyway. We just gasoline in the first camp that is located right after the entry (there are still signs). Every time we stopped the rain stops. The show was wonderful, then the Virgo rain and lightning even more. Flavio has also managed to capture two. Beautiful with the rain. Continue, but does not want to quit. The sky is too compact unfortunately. We decide to go to the hotel because it had become 19:00. Give us the keys to the room which is very large, but always on the 1st floor (the stairs that pizza with the bags). We notice that the toilet in the bathroom does not work and then back in the lobby. She immediately sent a person to control. Is timely to say the least. They were fast. Fixed the problem we decide to go to dine still there in the dining room / supper. You could get what you wanted with the tray and then pay the cash (like a table). Not just economically, with about $ 17.18 Flavio ate only because I was hungry! In the lobby and dining room has free internet (if you have your own computer), otherwise if you connect the computer with their pay. But this time no internet in room (not paying). The occasion to connect to the Internet in the lobby and then back in the room. Fixed some little things and go to sleep. Tomorrow if the weather is good, we hope, we look at the viewpoint, but with the sun. Besides, tomorrow is July 4th, Independence Day, therefore, is a national holiday. Who knows what they will do good .... I also purchased two American flags for the occasion!

19th day – Grand Canyon

We get up not too late, and outside stood a beautiful sun. Happy go out and go to breakfast in the hotel always (there's only one unfortunately). I expected to do something special since today is July 4th, then flags, gifts, etc. .... Eh, what a huge disappointment! Waiting for this day life and yet nothing to do, as was everyone else. Then take a cappuccino, pretty good with a type of pasta Danish cinnamon and icing and Flavio instead a hot chocolate muffin with 2 banana nut and blueberry and the other (I went better this time). I go in the room, take the two American flags that I bought in Page, we take the car and with map in hand we begin to stop the viewpoint. We were the only ones with the 2 flags that fluttered in the air vents all happy in this important day for the States. Mah! Cmq, traffic was very unfortunately and to find parking at the first viewpoint that was immediately after the Grand Canyon Village, it took 15 minutes. Started to become nervous and decide to see the viewpoint from last to first (as always). Along the way we find that some elk grazing the grass. We make some pictures and continue the tour. To reach the first viewpoint that is at the southern entrance of the Canyon should do about 25 miles. The traffic seemed to magically disappear, but surely because all the people had stopped the viewpoint near the Village as well as July 4 and Saturday, will have all the tables booked and then had to stay in the area (fortunately for us!). We start with the viewpoint that is at the beginning of Desert View with a tower made up entirely of stone and some souvenir shops and things to eat. Very beautiful landscape with the sun in the distance even if the usual clouds threatened to return to office. We climb the tower and the view was even better! We do lots of photos and video and then decide to eat there as something that it was 12:30 (maybe we can eat at a decent time). We buy a bag of bread already sliced (something is too good ... were ready), a bag of turkey and provolone (all strictly already cut to size sandwich ... what I like 'sti Americans!), We even 6 bottles of water that always need a Coke. Was not inexpensive, but that's okay. We get to eat behind the shop where there were tables with benches. We were just lucky for us. The fact that he was a little hidden you could not see much. Finished eating we continue our tour to the viewpoint. We stop to almost everyone, but in the end the view was always that, so we decide to skip one and go to the Market Plaza is located along the road. It 's a huge supermarket that sells everything. Perhaps there are some gift.
Nah, things cost a lot and we only bought postcards and milk with donuts for the morning. Then we go to our Village and see some shop we had seen the map that gave us the park and I also read on Routard. The sunset time is nearing and the colors were beautiful. Prices in the shops were unapproachable because we decide to do one last lap and then go to the hotel to rest a little and fix photos. Soon as we leave the store starts pioviccicare. (But the drops are huge here as well?). Everything is oversized! We arrive in the room and we put on the bed to sleep until 19:00. It was dinner time (thankfully decent hour), I thought, who knows what they'll do tonight, since up to now to July 4 I have not heard even the smell. We arrive in the room and nothing to do, even for the evening had organized something. There was only so many people queuing with trays and in a room next to feel the music. I thought, is there the party. But go, it was only for those who had booked. What a scam! The specialty of July 4 had two hot dogs and fries (kill, though I wasted). We eat badly. I shriveled hot dogs 2 and Flavio steacks a retreat, a boiled potato and some vegetables. Dinner we had never done worse! I took advantage to make even a refill with coke though I do not know if you could do, but what I ate did not interest me! Luckily we brought our computer so in the meantime we link to read emails. Canteen closes at 22:00 and ends also the kind of little party in the other room. We decide to go in the hall and try to call home using Skype. I can call my father and then go to sleep. Tomorrow we start for the penultimate city or Kingman on the famous Route 66.

20th day – Grand Canyon/Kingman

We have breakfast in the room with milk chocolate and bought the day before and mini chocolate donuts, which were really disgusting. Take the car and go away from this place really sad and full of old people (they were certainly better than the other hotels). The weather was beautiful for luck, because the weather is now just a memory. Along the way we cross the famous Route 66 and radio stations finally bring familiar songs we Italians also fits perfectly with the surrounding landscape. The nostalgia begins to be felt, unfortunately. We come to Kingman and go immediately to the Quality Inn, our hotel to make check-in and put the suitcases. We also read that the internet is free and breakfast is included (but already knew because I had read on Routard). The check-in but could do so from 12:30 onwards, it was 11:00 and we decided to make a walk through the city and look first of all laundry, the Route 66 museum, restaurant and Dam Bar & Steakhouse little place 60 years Mr. D'z so well described by the guide Routard and that they were all right on Route 66. Here, however, have changed the name to Andy Davin Av, but she is always ... the mythical!. We find the laundry down the street and right next to our hotel, they are dear. $ 1.75 for washing and drying many. Unfortunately, if there is only that we be content. However closes at 19:00. We ran the photo ran to the symbol of Route 66 which is right on the asphalt and resume the machine. Note that there is really nobody around and the shops are all closed. Heck, today is Sunday! What a scam and we think that the museum is closed on Route 66 and instead we are lucky because it is open. We enter and gadgets abound. We climb on the 2nd floor and $ 4 per person to enter the museum proper. In short, we could also save but that's okay we did some photos! Buy a frame for our 4000 photos and go on. Given the time we decide to eat lunch at this point by Mr. D'z is right there in front. Actually is nice aesthetically. It seems one of those 70 clubs throughout the period of Greece, all blue and fuchsia. We go and take a hot dog and a hamburger with fries and everything Coke. My hot dog was a spicy and shocking fact I left. The room was very clean and it went away almost immediately after eating. We do some photos outside and try another restaurant for dinner, that the description of Routard had to be really nice! We find it and actually really nice. Is always near our hotel, and always on Route 66/Andy Davin Av Now you've made the 13:30 and we decided to go for check-in. We deliver the keys and go in the room. It 'a very typical American hotel with ground floor rooms and parking in front. Very nice and also the rooms are very large and clean. Flavio tries to connect, but you need the password. I leave and I walk to the reception for me to give. Returning to my room I walk around and see the pool. It 's really beautiful, great and it seems clean. There are very few people, only 4 people and immediately run to tell Flavio. He took the opportunity to make a phone call to parents with Skype and then immediately go out now and let's relax a bit and finally take the sun as they should, so the shops are closed and the day was too beautiful to not take a bath in pool. Were only 2 people. Take 2 beds (although some were broken, but does nothing) and we relax. We decide to swim, although water was not very clean (there were some flies and other bugs) but little hurt because they were only at the bottom. Remain there until 16:30 because we had to always go to the laundry closed at 19:00. But before returning to the room I decide to go to reception and ask if the hotel even if there was one (usually have it all). And it was there and even open 24 hours on 24. Watch case is just outside our room (which thankfully), but not being reported we had no view. Just as well, we can do things calmly. Today day devoted to relaxation. One we really wanted. Let's take a nice shower, dress, Skype calls to Gino, the cousin of my father who lives near Los Angeles to agree to go to see him tomorrow, and then finally go out to go to eat a pretty decent steak steakhouse . From the parking lot seemed no one was inside and we were already worried. We enter, and instead the people there, but there was not much. The place is really cute! You could choose to go to the restaurant or bar. We naturally go to the restaurant. It 'just typical even with the sawdust on the floor to make it look like a saloon true! The waitress was very nice and we had to bring me a coke and a beer for Flavio then a T-Bone with chips, salad and beans for Flavio and burgers, salad and chips for me. A show! We finally ate normal food after all these weeks. We decide to take too sweet (though one in two) that was delicious! We make some pictures and finally we have not even paid much, $ 43 in two. We decide to leave $ 10 tip instead of 6, because we only had $ 5 and $ 1 sound offhand and did not seem appropriate. Plus the waitress was very nice and always nice to us then we have the data them to him willingly. When she returned she had a huge smile (you believe we left almost 20%) and there is also 2 pictures with our coffee.
We leave pleased with the day dedicated to pure relaxation and let the hotel because tomorrow we can expect a fairly heavy day. Almost 550 miles and 4 hours and 30 machine to get to Los Angeles. Plus I read that a city is chaotic and that the hotel car park is also payable. What a pizza!
Do laundry in the washing machine in front of our room and go to sleep.

21st day – Kingman/Los Angeles

We get up at 7:00 get ready and go to breakfast for the first time included in the price, at the hotel. The coffee was watery, but with a little milk has become decent. Take two toast with jam and a donut that I also seemed to looking fabulous. It was my first donut now! Actually it was really good, shame that I had one only! We leave happy once again, we finally succeeded in the same city for dinner and make a decent breakfast, almost like in Italy. Our stomach thanks! We check out and return to the Visitor Center / / Museum Route 66 to make the photo shows the front of Route 66 and buy another card. We take the opportunity to make gasoline and also see the souvenir shop which was just ahead. The beauty is that in Ms was alone and Flavio and I do a fast lap in the shop, but prices were too high. Forget it, we decide to do just petrol and go. Later they began to make the 9:15.
I stay in the shop to tell that Mrs. number of gas pumps was unlock, and Flavio leaves the shop for a car. There you have the scenes of this film where he takes the car out, you're in with the gun and make the robbery? well, equal. Plus I remembered putting my hands in my pocket and the lady I looked a little frightened. At first I did not think, but then I realized I was and I laughed because I saw the scene and imagine what he was thinking Ms. When Flavio was approached at the gas pump and I asked the lady on the pump to release n ° 8 has since calmed down! When I went out and told us all to Flavio laughed. Only that the gas did not go out and Mrs. exits from inside the shop and shows us how. It was unlike any other, we had a handle to lower the gas would otherwise not come out. The beauty is that she left without saying a word and is entered immediately. Return to withdraw your card and your receipt only by accident that marks us $ 28 instead of $ 26 and apologized to me and two thousand times the $ 2 in cash. Esco and riscusa again. For me it was making very afraid! auhauaua.
We still laugh. We sit in the car and finally part. We wait 4 ½ hours by car to Los Angeles.

21st day – Los Angeles

Along the way he takes us a little melancholy because we know that these are now the last days in the U.S.. Let the city of Barstow and I remembered that there was a great outlet where the brand clothes are really cheap, but unfortunately I do not know where! Read by the browser that we leave for Los Angeles, but we go wrong and a few out first. The error we get is that at the end Outlet is located on the road, then I would have seen the same. Going down, eat at Burger King going to see the shops. Many premises were closed for renovation, so we have not seen much. We just bought a pair of Levis jeans for one and two pairs of Nike and Puma to Flavio. The jeans we have paid just under $ 30 each and shoes around $ 116 in total. We come finally to Los Angeles and is a real trauma. We went from desolate roads where there was only us a hallucinating where all traffic darting left and right. Not to mention the 6-lane highways. I tried to respect as much as possible the speed limit, but I saw that everyone did what he thought!
We arrive safely Omni Hotel where I had read that the parking fee and was also quite salty! So let there nearby parking lots that you could park a few dollars as you wanted, even if it was just around the hotel. We find it really annoying and there was a Mexican. I seem to have understood that cost $ 12 a day, but you could not leave the car at night. So it was all crap! Moreover I tried to ask if we could leave the car whenever we wanted without paying again, but could not tell if it was the imbecile or did not understand exactly what we were saying. I think most who pretended not to understand. We immediately sent to that country and went to park at the hotel. The approach to Los Angeles was not the best. We arrive at the hotel and leave the keys to the valet, where they paid $ 30 per day, but at least the car was checked and could leave for as long as you wanted. Leave a single dollar to the parking, we check in and we climb in the room. Was very large and the view was not bad. Before we had a top hotel with an outdoor disco on the ground floor with water fountains that were amazing games.
We give a refreshed and go out in a hurry because we had an appointment with Dad's cousin in Laguna Hills is about 45 minutes from the city engineer. We do get the car and our problem now is the tip. What we give and especially when you have to give? When the door to the parking lot or when the fetch? Let our beautiful Mazda 6, insert the address in the browser and we move to Laguna Hills. It was very late, had to be there at 18:00 and we started instead from its 18:00. Take the highway and was also busy ... seemed to be back in Rome, pizza! Finally we arrive at the destination, but at 19:00. Laguna Hills is really nice, that's what I expected. The main street with terraced houses on both sides. Each house had its little garden in front and garage side. Behind almost all had the pool and garden.
Ring the bell and opens Gino's cousin dad who was worried because he did not know how to contact us, because he could not see coming. We apologize for the delay, but Los Angeles was really chaotic. There was Nanette, his wife, his son Ricky and Sammy, a beautiful Golden Retriever 4 years. We show that the house was huge, two floors and a swimming pool with Jacuzzi and a barbecue outside, behind the villa. We do some photo and then go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant near the lake there waiting for us, Michelle, her daughter with her boyfriend. The place was amazing, even more beautiful with the sunset. We took a table on the terrace overlooking the lake. We ate very well and very much. The evening flew and unfortunately we all go home to Michelle and have a coffee. We see photos of the grandson of Gino and then some photos of our wedding. Then, back home by Gino because we left our car. Favor and gave him the gift they give us. Speaking of this and that enough is being late. Reluctantly salute them promising to return and stay several more days with them. We agree with Ricky to go and see the city after two days because we expect to Universal Studios tomorrow. Gino ask about a tip that you should give the Valet when you bring / take the car in the hotel. He explains that usually leaves a tip when you back the car and when you leave. We as usual we did not understand anything and we left a dollar to those who had taken the car park. Moreover, a dollar was too little. Normally leave 3 to $ 5. So we arrive at the hotel that had become the second night, we leave the car and go in the room. Tomorrow we can expect a long day at Universal Studios.
caratteri piccoli caratteri medi caratteri grandi

22nd day – Los Angeles (Universal Studios)

We get up at 7:00, get ready and go down in the lobby. We take the time machine and leave a tip (only $ 2). We put in the browser address of Universal Studios that I found in the newspaper of the hotels / restaurants / museums that was in the room.
We arrive very quickly and without losing the Studios. We park and pay $ 12 for all day. We go from the bars / shops (Universal City Walk) fortunately, so we can make breakfast. We stop by my beloved Starbucks and take two cappuccinos and pasta 2. Start doing a lot of pictures and in the distance we see the famous ball that turns written with Universal Studios outside the entrance. Even there, ritual photos and then we get in line for the ticket.
We pay $ 67 per person give us the map of the park and show times, and enter. And 'huge and gorgeous. We do not know where to start. We begin to see the show times and we decided to see first Terminator 3D. Then, go to Jurassic Park which is a carousel, like that of the last lap where Mirabilandia dived into the water .... but we did not know and we lined up. To happen in the first row and we were dry, we left completely wet. Time to dry and we continued our tour. Between shows and rides have become 14:00 and we decided to stop and eat something. Let's go to the kiosk where Flintstone cooked everything on a big barbecue. Resume our tour and see the show of Waterworld, then the beautiful Studio Tour, where with a small train takes you to see the scenes of movies like "War of the Worlds" as an earthquake is simulated in meters, the famous motel " Psycho, "" Shark "and other films. During the tour, we had to stop three times because they were filming their live film, but not told us which one.
We buy so many gifts for us and for our parents and at the end of one thing and another have become 20:00. The studios were about to close and then we decide to go. We stop to get a milkshake for dinner and go to the parking lot to return the car. We return to the hotel and go to bed dead tired. Tomorrow we expect the tour to Los Angeles along with Ricky.

23rd day – Los Angeles (downtown and Venice Beach)

The appointment was with Ricky outside the hotel at 8:30, but we go down a little before to keep them waiting. We go around with his car so we can see everything without worrying about driving. We first breakfast with donuts finally, that throughout the trip I could only eat one time. We start with the Hollywood sign that we can see from the viewpoint of Mulholland Drive (I recommend Drive and Road). Unfortunately there was some mist, but we managed to photograph the same. That emotion, you always see in films and now they're there before. We get out to go to the Walk of Fame is where the sidewalk with the stars and celebrities of the footprints on the concrete.
We do the usual photo with our favorite actors and we also see the inauguration of a new "star", but did not know who he was. Resume the machine and go to Hollywood Blv, Rodeo Dr, Beverly Hills and Sunset Blv. Beautiful and rich. Steps to luxury real with the villas of the richest ultracoperte plants. Unfortunately we can not see any celebrity.
Begins to approach the lunch hour and go Downtown where to eat chicken from Chicken Wig'n of various types, thigh and breast with spicy sauces. We finished eating a fast lap in the car to downtown and then we head to the beaches of California or Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Along the way, I recognize the famous Ferris wheel rides with Santa Monica, which appears in many films and music videos.
We decide to park in Venice Beach and have a good walk between shops. The beaches are great, four times ours. If you put the towel early, arrivals on the shore at sunset! Venice Beach is the strangest people: street musicians, dancers improvised, painters, in short, everything and more. The shops are so many and all types, from normal to more strange. There is even a clinical one who takes care alternative to marijuana.
I buy a t-shirt with the words Los Angeles and shorts that put when I go running, and unfortunately I have to run again for some time to dispose of what I've eaten so far! Were now 19:00 and sunset over the ocean was wonderful. Still did not seem real, that was not our sea, but the immense ocean. We also added a walk on the beach to the water to touch the warm ocean water. Actually it was really hot, and I see from afar the famous Baywatch Towers. Of course I do not miss the photo identifying oneself with Pamela Anderson, although it is very difficult!
We decide to go, giving a last look at those vast beaches and ocean. We wanted to go to the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), the highway that passes through the ocean, but unfortunately it was late and we decide to return to the hotel. Ricky brings us sad and we salute the Omni. It 'was an unforgettable day. Now, place all the gifts in bags being careful to various weights and go to sleep.

24th and 25th day – Los Angeles/Rome

We get up a little more later than usual, around 8:30. After a shower, the last in the U.S., placed the last things in suitcases and go down to see if there is a Starbucks nearby. Fortunately, there is right there in front (or rear, where there are fountains) to our hotel. We return to the hotel, take a little baggage we connect to the internet in the lobby which is free and still we take our car. That was the last trip in our beautiful and comfortable Mazda 6. We fill, we come to the filing of Herz and reluctantly let the car. Fortunately there was no problem. We were so worried about how to get to the airport on foot, because now we no longer had the car to Hertz and instead there is the shuttle bus that brings you free boarding, the driver simply giving the airline on which flies. Very organized!!
We arrived at the airport at 13:00 when we had the plane at 19:20. Oh well, sooner rather than later). Check-in went well, fortunately, because we care about the weight of luggage that was actually a little heavier, but said there is a margin of a few kilograms. The only problem is that we have put in separate places, but the guy was kind enough to write with a pen change.
We eat at the airport and finally arriving 19:00. We check in and as we suspected it open because the trolley with the gifts we had bought in the U.S. we see that there was something that bothered. In fact it was just a metal frame.
We go there in the plane and the stewardess wrote off the slip with the return of the boy's place at the check-in. And now? How do we tell him that I had to stay close and Flavius? Nothing doing. I spoke with an English hostess and said something but we did not understand. Expect all sit back and the hostess tells us that if we tried to ask a passenger sitting next to our seats if it were willing to travel. At that moment I thought, but should not she ask him? We try and find a first person peasants who says no, then try another and gracious hostess tries to ask that other sitting next to Flavio. Replied that unfortunately has problems in the legs (which was true) and could not move. Then try to ask a kid and he quietly moves behind. I finally and Flavio are close but in the center seats aircraft that it can not be more central. This aircraft has not even the charger, what a disappointment!!
Moreover, a couple ahead of us, German as always, for moving the seat all the time (and we did it on purpose) and so we were comfortable, A flight of 10 hours not spent more. Could not wait to arrive. Finally we arrive in Zurich and yet here we always start the trolley to the usual metal frame, but everything went quiet and all were very kind (like Los Angeles). Entrance gate, Miss us put a note on a piece of hand luggage (backpack Flavius), but we do not understand why. I understand a little further.
Entering the stewards in the plane because there could still carry on hand luggage only and therefore only a backpack of Flavio and the trolley had to leave him. We say that inside there are sensitive things, and he assures us that everything is ok. Hopefully!
Captain finally close the window and still has nothing to do with that before. The seats much more spacious and comfortable, too bad that the flight lasts only 2 hours!
We arrive in Italy and, as we see that we have arrived!! We ask the stewards where were our trolley and we replied that he was in with other luggage. What? But as we have done so much for putting all the presents delicate in hand luggage to avoid the risk that this will break everything and puts it together with other cases? Well, that is, the journey is over and began rages!
We go out and ask for explanations as someone who always tell you do not know anything (nothing new, we arrived in Italy). Not to mention the files that are optional here, nobody respects them. Litter on the ground and peasants everywhere. How disgusting!
We look nervous that the bags arrived and thankfully all intact (including the content).
Well, fortunately we can now exit. We expect my father and Serena taking us home. We eat Italian food and then all to bed (although we have no sleep. It will take few days to absorb the time of 9 hours).
In conclusion, apart from the return journey with the Swiss, which will not take anymore, I can say it was the most beautiful journey of our lives! America is wonderful for both landscapes to people. All kind and disponibilissimi. Any difficulties they are always ready to help. Nothing to do with our kitchen, but it's just a small detail!
