Arrivals in New York and it looks like you have been to many of those glimpses of this city have been immortalized by various films.
A metropolis portrayed as heaven or hell, adorable, rich and warm as in the films of Woody Allen; fierce, tragic, apocalyptic films such as Scorsese, Ferrara, De Palma and Carpenter.
... and you seem to be an actor moves on a set trod thousands of other times is surprising, coming to this city, discover as we know it well thanks to the big screen. Ben 13,000 films were shot here in the Big Apple, where her movies are always home from Taxi Driver to After Hours, from Carlito's Way in overtime, from King Kong to Godzilla, from American Psycho to the 25th hour, from Breakfast Tiffany's Ad happened one night from SpiderMan in Gangs of New York and then again Requiem for a Dream, Help, and know your saints, The Godfather, Raging Bull, Independence Day, Marathon Man, The Bronx, Do the Right Thing, A Barefoot in the Park, Madagascar, North by Northwest, Once Upon a Time in America, all the films of Woody Allen!
Navel of the world, a land of dreams, bright and attractive, competitive and tough with a heart of steel.
Broadway, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty common places that make New York the largest city in song, loved, hated and photographed in the world.
During the first decades of the twentieth century because of the high price of land on the island of Manhattan began to build skyscrapers that now, as an absolute star rising towards the sky in a unique way characterizing the morphology of the city: there are very beautiful and singular and their discovery often forces you to turn the nose upward. Icon of the city is without doubt the Empire State Building (King Kong had also understood!). Then at the wheel:
Hearst Tower, near Columbus Circle;
the Flatiron Building ("iron") truly unique for its shape so that New Yorkers scommisero on how long the building would be able to withstand strong gusts of wind that blows where it stands;
The Trump Tower is a skyscraper of 58 floors located in New York on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 56th Street (the characteristic waterfall in the lobby);
The 500 Fifth Avenue is a skyscraper located on West 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York. Bryant Park is adjacent to a small but beautiful park where there is a winter ice rink and where, if you happen to wander in sunny days as it happened to me, the golden light take on a very characteristic (besides the play of reflections in high-rise skyscrapers);
Bank of America Tower on Sixth Avenue in front of the Bryant Park always characterized by its spire cumin similar to the horn of a unicorn;
Equitable Building in the Neo-Renaissance occupies the entire block and rises above the base in two blocks connected by a wing for the full height, forming a gigantic letter "H" view from 'above. The building was awarded in 1978, recognition as a National Historic Landmark;
The Lipstick Building, also known as 53rd at Third, it goes without saying that the name is due to its shape is reminiscent of a lipstick;
the Bertelsmann Building in Times Square is home to the largest record store in the world the Virgin Megastore;
World Trade Center 7 is the name that was given to the new building built on the site of WTC 7 collapsed in the attacks of 2001;
the Citigroup Center with the special, unique to New York to have a sloping roof;
Rockefeller Center is a group of 19 commercial buildings in New York, located in Manhattan, overlooking Fifth Avenue a few steps from Central Park to the south. Built by the U.S. Rockefeller banking family, is one of the largest private complex of its kind in the world. In December, the show is insured between glittering Christmas decorations, angels lit the huge Christmas tree and skating rink;
The skyscraper Woolworth, with sixty-storey skyscraper is one of the oldest and most famous city of others ..... there would be nominated but my favorites were: the Chrysler Building and the Metlife Tower.
The Metropolitan Tower Life Insurance Company (MetLife Tower for short) is unique in form: where the skyscraper was commissioned by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, in 1907, was chosen as a model for the Campanile di San Marco in Venice, in 2002 a new system computerized lighting at night is very similar to the Empire State Building gave a charm to this unique structure even more grande.I colors of the lights change in relation to special holidays or important events and you may be down there with his mouth open for hours to watch it!
The Chrysler Building is one of the best known symbols of New York City however you classify stylistically (or maybe even Art Deco "expressionist") forms are among the finest made in the design of skyscrapers so that in 2005 was the "most beautiful skyscraper in New York from 90 of the 100 American members of the jury of architects, critics, engineers, historians, lawyers, students, and is rightly the most popular with New Yorkers. Darkness Falls, the highest part of the Chrysler Building lights up, thus giving all its charm at night New York you're bored and do not ever take a picture!
Divided into five districts, inhabited by more than eight million people has become a place of reference for fashion, economics and life style: the trends that this city is endless and huge and still amazes you with its rivers of taxi yellow so cheap (not like our!) smells and lights.
I think there is a more cosmopolitan place because of this here is like having the whole world locked in a big city that resists time with the knowledge that, rightly or wrongly, the center of the world continuing to establish itself as a multicultural capital and transgressive , home of the American dream, where dreams are born and fantasies of those who arrive in the promised land.
I was prejudiced before visiting .... but New York should see once in your life to touch the contradictions of the capitalist world in which we live are all light and understand that after September 11 the world could grasp a better chance of change. Here we are trying with Obama: how will it end?
