Arrived in Virginia with three companions in a car rented in New York as an extension of a stop in Washington. As the capital of the United States that is located primarily in the District of Columbia has over time gradually enlarged over the Potomac River also occupying Virginia. Among others are just in Virginia Capitoline important institutions like the huge building of the Pentagon and the military cemetery in Arlington, the first we've seen several times by car, the second we touched on the highway.
Just arrived in Washington we get in Virginia trying in vain to reach Mount Vernon, our navigation system had crashed and there indicated the place. Temporarily waived for optavamo return to Washington and only late in the evening we returned to Virginia near Alexandria to eat in McDonald and sleep in a motel.
The next morning we finally reached Mount Vernon through a forest area to the river that runs along the Potomac. Here we entered the farm where he lived with his family the first President of the United States of America, George Washington, the father of his country. That is despite the gloomy day of the queue waiting to enter school was quite conspicuous. Managed to get started our tour brought the vision into a great movie for a film about the history of this American hero, born and died official English American President. After the movie we visited the gardens, the kitchen, the farm buildings as refrain from doing, a long queue to enter the house, which still peeped in the windows at the back. Going down to the shore of the Potomac River meets the simple tomb of George Washington and his wife but also one of the many slaves in which the President granted his freedom. On the bank of the river and the pier just beyond the plantation rather meager despite that two people dressed as Washington's attempt to revive the time shaving a sheep. Returning to the house meets the barn and the farmyard with a bit of poultry.
Before leaving we look at some environments reconstructed as the superintendent and the dormitory room of the slaves. At the exit there is a museum with relics of Washington and family.
We leave Mount Vernon and back through the forest in District of Columbia.
The next morning, still in Virginia, this time to get to the Dulles airport where we expect an American Airlines flight to Los Angeles where the car riconsegnamo chartered in New York.
