travelling through the territory of Maryland. From Lancaster to Washington, United States
In Maryland have passed with three traveling companions aboard a rented car in New York. We came from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Washington were reaching the District of Columbia as a stage of a long tour of North America (see related routes). By the motorway we waive Baltimore, through a green park and reached the District of Columbia before the outskirts of Washington. The following day, returning to Washington from Mount Vernon in Virginia have gone a stretch of road along the banks of the Potomac River where the water mark the border between Virginia and Maryland. Even the forest beyond the Potomac River that can be seen from the hill that houses the home of Washington at Mount Vernon is the territory of Maryland. In view of the fact that the border between the two countries is not in the river and the waters are totally Maryland, the small pier at Mount Vernon is located in Maryland.
