Honeymoon in New York and New England, after months of renovation works stressantissimi nothing to restore!

October is a beautiful, there is still lashing the cold of winter, the air is fresh and beautiful to walk through the streets not too crowded with tourists. New York is always in motion and standing still is traveling with her.

Return to New York in 2003 but is already finding a different city. Equal but in different rhythms in essence ... I am sorry to open this comment with a travel sore but surely the fact of return to 11 September has been very marked this beautiful trip though.
I remember, in fact, my first day of my first trip: the metro down to Battery Park and up the Broadway. It was January, and the gray snow was still piled on the edge of the roads though no longer a staple to fall the week before ... The buildings were too tall and shady, because the sun affects the ... while just above its junction with Wall Street, right on a red cube on the left and the Twin Towers: a glittering steel in a sky of pure crystal, clear air of the cold winter, the wind lashing the canyons of concrete, nose upwards with us trying to photograph something that as we try nell'obbiettivo camera just could not stay there.
In 2003 at the red cube on the right opened an immense esplanade crazy light.
But not everything that had meaning only in that place, stride violently gullies with stone avenue of ... Showed that too much dust still covered the buildings around ... some still gutted. Despite my 28 years, although I was prepared to shock, although accustomed to the pain associated amazed to an event so unreal, in spite of everything ... I cried like a baby, and filled with irrepressible sobs. As if that light had slapped me silly in the face.

But in a city like New York the sad thoughts that are not a breath of wind, especially if you have a maritini embraces you.
And then the city itself that gives you energy irresistible is its vital flow. Everything is within reach ... art, beauty, fashion, oversize curiosity and it is impossible not to be raised in the air from this merry whirl of joggers, elegant ladies, tramps with bottles in the bags, taxi assatanati ...
The first day we arrived just clashed in the street with a gentleman who walked in a hurry ... it was Sting!
And then the incredible museums, with entire environments recreated with care and detail indescribable. The Moma at that time was being restructured, so we went to Queens to see some of its temporary exhibitions. We also went to the concert of rem at Madison Square Garden and it was really exciting, and then see incredible impeccable quell'organizzazione: to Madison that night there were at least 3 or 4 different events!

After the first 4 days then we rented a car and we climbed back up the coast of New England ... the places of Melville and of whaling. In New Bedford we have sought the chapel of the Whales, church described in Moby Dick ... according to the story of Father Mapple Melville preached to the sailors from a pulpit shaped like a bow of a ship ... so we found that although there is the chapel where the pulpit ' Melville invented ... but do not worry! The Americans were not to disappoint, however, placed a fake there pulpit / bow that did not disfigured in a pirate galleon Gardaland! However along the walls of the church are the tombstones of some of the original men died at sea. Very characteristics also turning segnavento whale-shaped instead of the usual cock!
Then we crossed the beautiful city with picturesque harbors, reefs are very difficult to photograph but beautiful, small lights and so much good fish to eat!
Small reminders film Mystic and Gloucester where you can see the locations of "The Perfect Storm" and the commemorative plaques scattered at sea, including the crew dell'Andrea Gale.

Then on to the beautiful peninsula of Cape Cod and then turn inwards. In October, it is absolutely spectacular turn for the agricultural areas and woodlands. There are so many maples in October you can attend the period of the "indian summer" during which the sharp drop in temperature leads to a sudden reddening of the leaves.
Mindful of those who tried to suck the marrow of life went up to Lake Walden, in the footsteps of those who tried to live with wisdom so as not to discover, on his death bed that had not lived.

Satisfied of fresh air and smell the sussurrante sorghum, 4 days after a stroll in the metropolis net return to go there as one of its neon lights the last days of this wonderful holiday.
