We started in 5, 4 men and 1 woman, we did not use any tour operator, but organized the trip from home only with the PC. We only booked the return flight from London to Melbourne .. (1100 euro Emirates) 2 nights in a hotel in Melbourne for the first 2 days (Grand Cancellor € 40 per day) and a mini van seats 8 to 12 days (800 euro )..... after 2 days of rest and visit to Melbourne we started direct on the coast of South Australia to the 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road through the capitals of Lorne ... surfing australiano.Torquay and continuing We stopped in finding accommodation to Warnabool "surfside holiday park" in a bungalow ($ 120 per night )...... spread northward, passing through the Coorong Natonal Park and stop at Murray Bridge on the Murray River town, the river Australia ..... even longer north to Adelaide where we stopped only long for a beer, and stop for the night at Port Wakefield ... more bungalows very nice and clean ($ 120 per night) .. . Rising Sun Hotel for dinner and very good cheap meat ($ 30 per person )..... broken down to Port Augusta, shopping at the market via the Stuart Highway and Road to the north, we enter the desert destination in Coober Pedy, the opal town of On the way we see endless herds of cattle and an incredible amount of dead kangaroos hit by cars and trucks during the night (do not recommend anyone to drive on this road at night) we find lodging at the Desert View Hotel ($ 160 for an apartment in the rock) ; in this country given the impossible 45-degree temperatures .. .. almost all the inhabitants live in houses dug into the rock to try .... .... it always starts in the north and enter the Northern Territory, stopping at Marla and Erlunda charming villages lost in the desert, the street we see the famous train "The Ghan" which runs through the whole of Australia is ......... Erlunda is also the junction with the Lasseter Highway .... gasoline here costs an average of 35/40 cents more per litro.La Lasseter Highway to as far as Ayers Rock one of the goals of our trip ... knowing that the only accommodation Ayers Rock are very expensive we decided to take a bungalow Outback Hospitality ($ 230 per night) between one place and Erlunda Ayers Rock situated about 150 km ..... very typical if you pass at least stop for a beer ... .. visited Huluru ($ 25 per person park admission) and watching the sunset on the famous monolith to return north to Darwin and the Kakadu park our other half ....... unfortunately these days and arrive in Darwin in the north coast the storm that flooded Lawrence 80% of internal roads in Kakadu, and that we had 4wd car can not do, we could only cross it along the Kakadu Highway to Jabiru and Darwin move towards taking the Arnhem highway, along the road a lot of kangaroos, wallabies, parrots, etc. ........ stop in Darwin where we celebrate Christmas (bad weather 35 degrees and 90% humidity) can not swim in the sea, in which more than a jellyfish and sharks are also coccodrlli ... (found in those days one of 4 meters from the beach )...... here by plane with Cairns star Jet ($ 130 rent-to-head )..... other minivan p 8 (700 euro) and down the coast to where Bowen stay in a beautiful bay on the Whitsunday Sands Resort ($ 194 per day ).... distributed in the hope of landing in the Whitsunday island but all are full and very expensive , then back up north, stop in Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry to 4 days ... staying at Bright Point complex made up of apartments by the sea where everything works in solar energy, in a splendid apartment of approx. 150 meters ($ 300 per person including ferry back to Cairns is broken )..... when staying at Mcleod Resort (2 days $ 190) ... take the boat out on the Great Barrier Reef ($ 165 per person including a great lunch )....... indementicabile ... so do not miss another Virgin Blue flight to Sydney (268 euro each), they wanted to stay in Bondi Beach, but all full so we're in town at the Metro Hotel ( $ 1600 6 days) .... another flight to Melbourne where we are 2 more days waiting to return home.
