In Melbourne we arrived with the Overland, one of the three historical trains in Australia. The arrival station is Southern Cross on Spencer Street. The hotel, Harbor View, we find it on the road between this and La Trobe St. The city has its own CBD (Central Business District) of rectangular shape whose perimeter is bordered to the north by La Trobe St., from west 'Harbor Esplanade, south from Flinders St. and east of Spring St. The perimeter path is the Free City Tram Circe (free), and points of interest, even outside the perimeter, are toccti Tourist Shuttle (free) Open from 9:30 to 16:30. Near the hotel there is the Queen Victoria Market bus stop No 7 of the Shuttle. Melbourne along, however, easily on foot. The interior to the rectangle is crossed by a small number of wide roads. We remind those who pass through horizontal: Lt. Londale St., Londale St., Lt. Bourke St. and Bourke St., Lt Collins St. and Collins St., with the Greek Precint and Chinatown Precint, while Lygon St . is located in the north-east out of the rectangle and is the street of the neighborhood Italian. Also in North-East of the rectangle are the Old Melbourne Gaol (the former prison where he was hanged the notorious Ned Kelly child) and, in Carlton Gardens, the Melbourne Museum (at least three hours of access). Just past the Carlton Gardens, you can enter the district of Fitzroy and Brunswick St. Inside the rectangle, in King Street, not far from our hotel, there is a small museum of Aborigines in the South and the Immigration Museum (entrance free). Do not miss, south-east, over the Yarra River, reached by the Shuttle, the Royal Botanic Gardens. Created in 1846 presenting plants with over 150 years old. Returning to the Yarra are the Queen Victoria gardens and then, on St. Kilda Road, the National Gallery of Victoria (admission free, minus any exhibits) with paintings of some famous authors and ancient sculptures. Close, also in St. Kilda Road, one can admire the works of Victorian Art Center. Those who are interested in science can take a boat to South Gate and go to the Science Work (AU $ 36 round trip) and visit the educational part, where the planetarium is a computerized system simulates the experience of moving through the Universe. We must pay attention to the ending because the planetarium is open with 2 shows at 10 and 14. We left last Federation Square, the most important square in Melbourne, where there is a rich center of information and the Australian Center for Moving Image. The first day we visited the Aquarium Torme among schools. Seven days there have been just enough to see all the places we've listed out from and returning at 9 to 18.
