Honeymoon in Polynesia
For our honeymoon we decided to take a tour of 15 days in the U.S. and 8 days in Polynesia ...
In Polynesia, at the suggestion of the agency we chose the island of Bora Bora and Tikehau and how we have chosen accommodation for both the chain of Pearl Beach Resort
Bora Bora:
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of this island is definitely the wind ... I do not know if it was always like this or the period ... but there was always too much wind, which always made the sea choppy and rough, the landscape is beautiful because it has the view from the beach right in front of the volcano and certainly this makes it very attractive, of course the sea is beautiful but a few fish and a bit 'disappointing for snorkelling as we do.
The structure is fantastic, nothing to say! We had the "Garden Pool Suite" a bungalow at the beach house with private garden with swimming pool and Jacuzzi .... all great ... only drawback was that the sun almost never beat the pool and so the water was always too cold for bathing (although we tried anyway).
Some boys had known the overwater them and they said that because the strong wind, it was almost impossible to sleep .... despite being the most "chic" were so pleased they were not.
Chapter eat: There are 2 restaurants and a bar / restaurant all the paper, the only meal is breakfast buffet (very rich), we ate lunch in the bar on the beach and I must say that everything was always very good ... the evening at the restaurant, impeccable service and cuisine, as French-style, perhaps we Italians had a little 'too many sauces and spices ... still generally positive.
Tikehau
The first thing we notice, coming from Bora Bora is the absence of wind and'impatto is just fantastic ... sea ??and especially flat "pool effect"!
The other thing we notice right away is that the island is definitely smaller and unspoilt of Bora Bora ... aspect that makes them personally get many points!
To Tikehau we granted the overwater suites ..... FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!! According to me in these places the overwater makes you experience the sea differently .... stand on its own veranda with direct access to the sea without even having to "beat" to go to the beach ... is priceless! :-)
Here, too, snorkeling was not great ... Bora Bora, but still better than anything that ... missing the reef we can not expect much!
Even here the food was fine .... with the note that in the restaurant, the evening of desserts were fabulous!
Overall I can say I was happy to be in Polynesia, but perhaps also saw how much it costs to go there, would not go back ..... honestly the first time we were in the Maldives we are back with an enthusiasm that I did not have to Polynesia!
