IN THE HEART OF THE AMAZON FOREST, BRAZIL
The region-Xixuau Xiparina, extended approximately 200 000 hectares and is located 500 km north of the city of Manaus, is fully protected and managed by Association of Amazonia, the Brazilian non-profit organization that works for the preservation of tropical forests and improving the quality of life of the local population through sustainable development projects, including ecotourism.
The region is entirely covered by primary forest, sometimes unexplored, is accessible only by river, making a fascinating boat cruise of about 36 hours along the Rio Negro and Rio Jauaperi, departing from Manaus.
Visitors are welcomed into the community and hosted Xixuau Malocas in traditional, comfortable style wooden huts made of indium-Waimiri Atroari. The facilities are equipped with double rooms, private bathrooms, private patio, electricity, mosquito nets. The community includes Maloca living area, library and bar.
