Santa Marta
The journey by bus to reach our first destination in
Colombia,
Santa Marta, was about three-hour, nothing serious, but the spectacle offered by the vegetation in which we were surrounded by the features and shabby houses that were scattered along the main road has really nice the whole. As of now the town has made a good impression, especially his calm in Venezuela that we were no longer used. In twenty-five days well spent in Venezuelan land there were never allowed an exit today (excluding the archipelago of Los Roques, but this does not count!) Because of the constant danger that we could meet and it is therefore understandable that there seemed to be a paradise that unexpected tranquility. Right time to find accommodation and arrange your luggage and we were already on the streets of the city.
Santa Marta is a medium sized country with an important colonial center in appreciable storage conditions and is mainly built in a pleasant bay protected from the violence of the ocean. We have now adjusted to this new and pleasant situation of peace and security we will not miss the opportunity of an excellent dinner near the beach and a healthy digestive stroll along the sea. The reasons why the
Santa Marta show honors in the media are essentially two: the Quinta de San Pedro and the Tayrona National Park. For reasons of time and especially money we had to rule out a visit to the park and concentrate on the Fifth, an old and huge estate in which the distilled sugar cane became extremely famous for having hosted the Libertador in his last days of life.
