The story

Jambo everyone,

I won't waste words describing how the flight, the hotel, the climate were, etc…. because I think it is more important to tell you about the wonderful holiday we had!!! I don't even know where to start, maybe also because I am not very good with words…. But I can start with a very special person… his name is Jammy, he is a local person whom I contacted via the internet before leaving. I was a bit sceptical and didn't know if I had done the right thing booking the excursions without even knowing him in person, even though I had researched well thanks to blogs, his website and writing him several emails. I made the best choice I could have made!!!!!!!!!! 1. I spent half of what the village was asking!! 2.

When you arrive in Kenya, on the beach there will be the famous beach boys waiting for you (local people who want to sell you excursions, statuettes, etc….) and at first they might be a bit insistent, or rather there are really so many of them… but if you tell them you are already sorted with a local person… then they will only compliment you for not choosing the village but for giving work to one of them, and they will become holiday companions, because every day they will be there ready to ask how you are, etc…. 3. He is a really very friendly, kind, shy person who doesn't know what it means to be intrusive, but who will only try to make your excursions perfect; basically his motto is to fully satisfy his clients! In fact he wanted to be our guide on all the trips we bought from him, unlike others who only try to sell the excursions and then other people accompany you.

And then let's not talk about the safari animals!!! He never gives up and is always on the lookout for all the animals!!!!! He wanted to show us the cheetah, he looked for it until we found it!! there are many others who didn't manage to see it!!! 4. Your money will truly go to a person who really needs it! 5. We chose the days of each excursion ourselves; he never imposed the day, he was always available for everything!

What can I say about the safari…fantastic!!!!! We did Tsavo East and Amboseli, we saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, jackals, crocodiles, a lion, lionesses with cubs, vultures, hawks, hippos, wildebeest, monkeys, oxen, a cheetah, ostriches…. anyone who goes to Kenya and doesn't do a safari, what are they going for??????:-))) The sunsets and the red earth of the safari are unmissable things!!!!!! We slept one night at the Voi Wildlife Lodge, a beautiful hotel in the savannah; in front of the dining room (completely open) and in front of the lodge's balcony there is a small lake where several animals come to drink: antelopes, monkeys, hippos, elephants….

beautiful!!!!!!! Having lunch with all these animals nearby, you never get tired of watching them!!!! The second night instead we spent in a tented camp at Kibo, guys what a tent!!!!!!!!! well organised is an understatement!!!!!! I was a bit sceptical about that too, I thought: who knows where they're taking me to sleep!! instead guys…. they only tell you that both the lodge and the tent were much nicer than our room at the Eden Village in Watamu!!

We also did the blue safari, the island of love and Malindi + Jammy's village….. do you know which of the 3 I liked most???? Jammy's village… maybe it's because I'm a softie…. but all those children, the houses, etc…. for me they are truly strong emotions!!!! and I'm happy that my little heart experienced them!!!

I personally brought a bit of everything, used children's clothes that I collected thanks to my colleagues, pens, notebooks, little soaps, sweets, little shoes, a few cuddly toys…. I left with 2 kg extra and luckily they didn't charge me, and to think I even put several things inside my boyfriend's suitcase! Maybe I didn't do much with what I brought, because there are truly so many children, but the smiles I received were for me the most beautiful gift I could receive from Kenya…. they have these big beautiful eyes and these big smiles…. when they hear a minibus coming from far away they all rush to the roadside and greet you shouting: CIAOOOOOOOOOOOOO CARAMELLAAAAAAAAA even if they don't manage to reach the roadside in time they greet you from afar…

anyway I won't go on because you will have already understood or you are aware that life in Kenya is not quite the same as what we live in Europe…..

I'll end my story …. also because I'm at work and they keep interrupting me….

I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BUT TELL YOU TO GO TO KENYA, YOU'LL HAVE A HOLIDAY RICH IN EMOTIONS BUT ABOVE ALL NOT TO BOOK THE SAFARI WITH THE VILLAGE!!!! BUT TRUST THE BEACH BOYS WHO NEED IT AND HAVE THE SAME SERVICE IF NOT BETTER!!! I ADVISE YOU TO CONTACT JAMMY ALREADY BEFORE LEAVING, TRUST ME AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!! I'LL LEAVE YOU HIS WEBSITE THE E-MAIL: jammysafari@yahoo.com

I've been back for 5 days and at work I do nothing but look out of the window and think of Kenya…:-(((((

JAMMI IF YOU READ MY STORY….THANK YOU AGAIN….AND I WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MUCH LUCK, I HOPE TO RETURN TO KENYA AND SEE YOU AGAIN!!!

JAMBO EVERYONE!!! LUISA
