The story

... Having left Corinth, we therefore reach Athens.

Getting off the train with map in hand, we easily head towards the Acropolis.

We pay for the ticket, go in and immediately follow the arrows to climb up towards the Acropolis;

step by step we reach the top and finally the Parthenon is in front of us.

A majestic work, which unfortunately we can't admire in all its splendour

because of the scaffolding surrounding it for restoration work.

The view from up here is nonetheless very evocative; you can notice the vastness of the

city, and in the distance you can also glimpse the sea.

Besides the Parthenon, numerous photos were taken of the ancient Temple of Athena, the

Theatre of Dionysus, the Propylaea, the Sanctuary of Zeus — in short, a fine visit

to the Acropolis of the capital could not be missing from our tour of Greece.

Around 4 o'clock we decide to leave the Acropolis and take the shopping street;

we buy souvenirs for relatives and friends, and pleased with the day we reach the

station to return to Corinth.

Athens is now behind us, but our journey in Greek lands is still

long... we're only at the third stop...

Tomorrow another fine Greek stop awaits us.

Bye from the travellers Claudio and Vale
